Just bought it for $9 AU at a cd key store. Just go to allkeyshop to search for the best prices. Also came with a Codebreakers Preorder Bonus, what ever that is. And i don't blame you not buying for those prices. They really try and screw us hard for every cent if you live in Australia.

You Austrailians thought that X-Com would suddely magically be the same price as a game in North America? I'm Canadian, I pay more for my gas then America, you don't see me complaining. It sucks yes, but there is a reason why certain continents pay more, and in your case it is because you are on a small island.

Well, if the original cost of all games is much higher in Australia, why would you expect the discounted price to be the same?
Besides, does anyone actually REALLY know what party is setting the prices? If they discounted the game by the same percentage it does not seem to be unfair.

Not all games are more expensive, but certain publishers (such as 2K) deliberately inflate the prices for Australian IPs. We get charged in USD.

Game in USD if you are in the US - $50.
Game in USD if you are in Australia - $80.

Our dollar has also dropped to about 0.90USD. So we get another 10%+ conversion cost on top. That side of things is just the way it goes, but getting slugged an arbitrary cost on top for digital goods is starting to wear thin.

If you live in Australia, you should already know companies price gouge us, as it has already been proven. One of countless examples is the ESRI ArcGIS software, which cost $4400 in Aus and $1500 in U.S. It might of been cheaper to fly to U.S buy the software and have abit of a holiday aswell. And don't forget the ridiculous prices Adobe was selling their software for in Aus. And didn't the Aus Govenment recently subpoena Adobe, Apple, Microsoft for price gouging? Digital software should be the same price here as in the U.S. There is no physical handling of the software other than using a server to upload it. So it's ripping the Aussie comsumer off pure and simple.
