Whats up with all the :( Cheating :(
To start off with let me state that I am not a big fan of cheat codes, most mods, etc... I have enjoyed running mods on a few games after i have beaten them (usually more than ounce) and only in single player mode. ! I hate online cheaters!

Ok now that I have said that..... I just started playing DD and have been working hard leveling up a Squire and Monk. Just arrived at level 70 with both, FINALLY!! So I just recently started playing with people that are not on my friends list and immediately noticed quite a few people with uber awesome weapons that seem just a little over the top. Ok so I don't clame to be any kind of gaming god but I don't think at level 70 you can upgrade weapons to 200,000 melee damage. Correct me if i am wrong. After playing for some time and doing little or no damage in comparison to them I was given some weapons that where i must say AWESOME! For me its not a lot of fun just blowing through levels with no opposition. So I have went back to my old weapons and just kept playing with a hand full of people that I know.

What do you guys think? Are most of you using mod weapons?

Ok started over in "Ranked" should have done that to start with!!

I would deffinatly say that should fix the problem xD well most of the time
Its because there was a program made intended for Open that makes modding incredibly easy. Hence when irresponsible people purchase this program, they abuse it on ranked. That's why you are seeing an increased problem in the last few weeks. More so than the last 6+ months.
It's every person's responsibility to do what is right.
But unfortunately almost everyone's definition of right is slightly different if not entirely different all together.
There's not really a way to stop it either with the current framework of the game.
and btw... I MAKE my own weapons and items on Open. It's much more fun in my opinion.
I just released one tiny little peak on the open mod community and it's gone kinda viral I guess. to my surprise over 1,000 subscribers just 2 days after release. Perhaps that just goes to show you how many people prefer fun over challenge. Or rather an option to force through challenging situations easily.

If you see someone you suspect of modded items/characters on Ranked (and they usually are not very subtle about it), report them here. They'll be investigated and banned if Trendy finds anything amiss.
And as they get banned, there will be less cheaters overall. Do your part!!

finding hackers and cheater isnt easy at all, ppl report me for ulti ++ stuff they never saw and waht they will never see. You have to know whats extremly hacked and what not? miths with 600 stats? hacked. ulti with nearly all tower stats on 500? and 224 free upgrades? not hacked its a nearly perfekt ulti drop better you ask a few player who played this game alot of time. In normal Time brings the knowledge.

Yep, I dont have any problem with high level players. Thats the point work hard level up and be proud of it. Playing ranked is a lot better! Was a bummer going from my level 70 charters and starting over lol. I was yelling at my squire to "RUN FASTER"!! LOL jk jk

Play with the community guys, create your own game, check whoever joins see their gear, if hacked insta-kick, if you find suspicious, start a game ask them to build that way you can easily tell if he/she is a pro or a wannabe hacker.
Actually just play with the guys from forums.
I'm coming to this game after a good 6 month break. Much has changed to my liking but well...modded weapons and hacking hasn't changed, and I doubt it will be at least not in this life.

In addition to what derjay said, if you see monk auras covering the entirety of a (large) map, they're probably hacked. 70+ range auras are not normal! And if they have 0.00 attack rate, well...

open really is there so people can mod and cheat as long as they use ddk to do it
another thing that you have to be aware of it that a monk running boost + boost pets + the ev boost beam all stack so you cant have a hero/tower doing 2-6x its normal damage/speed/defense with out hacking

This ^

i started playing a 136 hours ago ^ ~ ^ and I was a level 73 summoner. I joined a game and a barbarian joined who was level 74, he was doing millions of damage and his gear looked way to high, another player in the group booted him and reported him.

I just made my first barbarian and he is level 75. my dps gets to 6.5mil....
I feel bad now for what happened before but the only way to learn is to keep at it. Now i know better and as G.I.Joe says, "knowing is half the battle".

Me i used to use mods then it got boring. But i still uses that Crystal sword all melee peeps uses and i used this program and nerfed all of its stats. I like the way the weapon looked so i decided to nerf it instead of not using mods.

The cheating in Dungeon Defenders has unfortunately been an issue for a long time, but it is possible to cut down on it, as has been mentioned earlier. Something I would like to add to what Erendor has said, though... when you do report a player, include screenshots proving the hacks they were using, otherwise Trendy will not be able to ban them. (Obnoxious stats, obviously hacked auras or traps, and the like)

If you have suspicions about a player with an item that looks hacked but you just can't seem to see why, there is a thread on Trendy's forums where they can check for you:
