Only 35 drops on the floor during survival
What the heck did they do to completely break item drops? The wave progresses, the number of items on the floor increases. Then apparently after the maximum is reached the number of items allowed on the floor falls rapidly.

Toward the end of the wave items are sometimes vanishing before they hit the floor...and at the end there may be as few as 35 items, and rarely more than 60. From what I've read this is only 9%-15% of the number that's supposed to remain. My wife's and son's games also show the same problem.

Is there some way to fix this?

More heroes present at map more allowed items remain on floor
if item limit is reached, worst items disappears so dont mind it too much ... and trust me you dont want those items to clog and get an ulti item hidden under bunch of godly items >.<

The items that go away still give you mana for them, as Asas has said, those that go away are never a upgrade, they are mostly amazing items (thats what they are called I believe). The best items are always saved for you, the rest will be turned into mana

Ok, two people seem to have misunderstood my issue here. At the end of the round, there are often just 5 or 6 weapons where the stream of monsters from the spawns hit the defenses. 5 or 6 items in front of this minion wall, 5 or 6 in front of that cluster of harpoons, etc. And this is up around wave 25-30. If my inventory was empty when I started collecting, I could hold ALL the items that remain on the floor at the end of the wave for 5-10 waves.

Your question wa answered. Worst items disapear first. And you get no mana from these. If you want maximum mana you need to run around and collect.

So just to be clear, the maximum number of items that will be available to pick up on a map is about 30-60? (half of which, BTW are godly or worse)

There is indeed an item limit. It doesn't make sense to keep 3000 items on floor for a whole wave. Like asas said you don't want ♥♥♥♥♥♥ items covering the better quality items on the minimap.

You are absolutely not in need to collect every single piece, all items which are disappearing will be automatically sold and their value will be added to your bank.

may i disagree on auto selling disapearing items pew :P?

have bad experince with them <_<

I don't think anybody understood the question here and I got the same problem too and lots players I know too. The floor is full Items and POOF suddently by magic almost everything is gone, don't tell me its all crap at wave 28+ this is unacceptable, you work for your stuff and then you finish the wave with what less then 50 items and all crap. I saw lots trans disapearing, normal? I have +- 3000 hours played in DD so and I saw that a lots of that kind of crap on every map.
asas2007 Mar 24, 2015 @ 11:56am
yea regarding that problem ... hispetile
if you had more players(chars) in, then all(some) of them left at end of wave and you opened a chest(dropped items). you might go over the limit of more players causing them (most items) to disapear
or so i do believe but hey am no developer ... and i think your issue is not the same what he said ...

ASAS 2007, that's essentially what I've been talking about. Nobody is leaving my game. The dropped item limit is CLEARLY HIGHER THAN 35 ITEMS during part of the game.

It goes up past 100 items...proabably 200 or 300. But then something happens and items start going away MUCH FASTER than they are replaced. The number of items on the floor falls from 200 or 300 to 30-50.

And this isn't crap that's disappearing. Impressive 200+^ stat sticks/armor with multiple 200+ stats ...*poof* gone. And in the end there are about 15-20 weapons below mythical quality.

So really this means there are about 15-20 items (out of 35 total) that are even of mythical quality or better that remain behind.

Ya, I've had that happen before.

It's the reason I run around picking up any "upgrade" items or purple items from the ground during long survival rounds.

The worst is definitely when the round is over, and you open a chest, and poof, 2/3 of the items on the ground disappear.

Nope nobody leave my game cause I mostly play alone or with my friends and when I play with them they don't leave we play until we win or lose.
This happen a lots to me during the wave everything is almost all gone. I also noticed something since a while there is more crap on the floor then good I don't think this is normal when you are at wave 28+. I took a break from DD for a year and came back 2 months ago and I don't know what they did but its not so good.

Exactly, how frustrating it is. Hard work for nothing.

This isn't true. Any items which disappear during a wave or after a wave while opening chests are not sold at that moment.
-- Neither an autosave icon nor a mana increase message appear at that time.
-- Also, you can check your bank amount at the beginning of a wave (use the message which appears at the beginning of the wave to see how much you have after selling the items on the ground) and compare it to the mana amount after a wave finishes. That value is always the same.

It's possible that the value of the items which disappeared during/after a wave is included in the value gained when all of the items left on the ground are sold at the beginning of a wave, but I haven't tested yet. I was in the middle of doing so just now, but Steam kicked me from the server, so I'll have to do that later.

^It isn't. Vanished items are simply gone.

Items that vanish are simply the items with the lowest mana value. The game prioritizes the items by their mana value when deciding to vanish them from the field.
