Why Are Gas Traps Good?
I hear everyone say they're a real strong core part of building defences. What kind of gear/stats should I put on the Huntress to make the traps strong.

I assume the Gas traps would go with Strength Drain/Electric/Ensnare auras. But what do they do and how would they help increase the damage/delay to the enemies?

Also do I need to shrink their trigger range?

Gas traps are basically anti-djinn traps. One hit on the gas can stall them for over a minute. Since they can fly in from any direction and de-spawn stuff (which will also instantly kill your buff beams and lose you the game on harder maps), it's important to incapacitate them before they can do so. On the hardest maps they often have more health than you can deal before they get off the attack, so a poison immobilize comes in real handy.

If you are going for only darkness trap or gas trap, put points in Tower Range, or if you are going to use other traps also, put it on damage. The bigger it is, the better for all traps.

Okay, but what does the gas trap do? How does it effect the enemies to increase DoT?

For example Ensnare Aura is good as although it deals no damage it slows all enemies (sort of). So other defences have more time to deal damage.

Strength Drain Aura allows for resistant enemies to not be resistant.

How does the gas trap fit into this?

I see all these people say it's really good but never seem to say what it does.

Gas trap will stall enemies, if the enemy is not resistant to poison. It does not do damage.
