Then farm some earlier nightmare maps for gear (NOT the first two, they are trash loot and a waste of time) to start getting some mythic gear. You can complete like 95+% of the game with just mythic gear and solid builds.
Make sure you get a Series EV to level 20 ASAP (20 I think it was? for buff beam tower unlocked). Buff beam is EXTREMELY important. EV can be naked and doesn't need leveled past this as a priority because buff beam barely scales with stats (tho it does slightly scale same way as summoner below). Cast speed can definitely assist in building against Campaign/challenge map timers tho.
Also you want summoner to level to 74, too, pretty ASAP because they will massively boost build capability with strong regenerative archer/mage walls and spider minions for dmg boost. Summoner minions only get tower hp and tower damage (I suggest 2:1 ratio here, tho many do 1:2 but it is honestly not as efficient until end game stats). Tower range and tower rate are, legit, worthless on summoner (0 as good as 5000 points in those two stats, it simply doesn't scale).
You will need a good aura monk with solid tower range (secondary main focus stat is tower defense) and a traptress (range primarily, and you will mainly want her for gas traps tho the others are certainly useful) in nightmare.
Once you got full mythic armor sets you can start trying to farm moonbase for fishbowl pet (need to do dance mini-game, see guides/Google for info) and the bowl can give a free 400-500 (might be 600? I forget) stats for builders for another nice boost. If you see anyone running Akakiti/Moonbase campaign try to join it for the weapons/pets. Moonbase also gives solid dps/tower weapons and Akakiti gives some pretty great ones (400+ stats). Note: No way you are going to be able to do Akakiti yourself on NM until noticeably later so only bother with that if someone else is building and you join and help. Moonbase isn't so bad once you figure it out actually.
At this point you should be able to handle Tavern Defense Nightmare Hardcore Campaign (farm all but final wave + boss, simply reset map at that point and start grinding it again because the final wave for exp/time/difficulty involved actually lowers total exp gain per min for needless effort and the map rewards on that map are trash). Later, if you want, you can also do Tinkerer's Lab for blasters/random pets/rare ult/sup armors and it is slower exp than Tav Def but gives you some goodies in the process so you choose (note you will want higher stats so you can basically just build in middle and wipe entire map with boost monk).
Then you can start pushing to level 78 for trans gear and farming harder NM maps. Eventually working on better than trans gear (frankly totally unnecessary but can help a very few of the hardest maps be easier if you got good supreme/ults, but otherwise trans is good enough for the entire game).
Note: Once you can do Tavern Def NM HC for several or all but boss wave (skip) you can get a character from level 1 to like 76 in one map run so you can get your EV and any alts you want up to mythic gear extremely fast. Leveling past 78 is simply extra so don't bother with it until your full set of builders are 78 and you got some trans gear setup, esp as 90+ grind is significantly slower... Note: Treadmill on Treadmill pet gives massive speed boost + up to 700-800 stats from Moonbase but requires level 100 to use so it is nice once you do reach level 100 and reaching level 100 does result in a noticeable amount of stat points from leveling.
Also, you want your builders to be female. They run faster and this matters, a lot, in campaign/challenge maps due to timer when building against timer (might not seem important early on but matters a lot in some maps). Exception is Apprentice who is as fast as the female version. Males are slower but get more HP (not that it frankly matters, Jester has most HP in game, Barb has Turtle + Heal, and resistances can help almost any character survive fairly adequately).
Also, split screen (multiple controllers or controller emulator) so you can level up several characters (4 max) at the same time will save you lots of time. Also means up to 4 pet/map completion rewards using this method as well.
This comment is just straight up perfect.
Regarding this it doesn't matter much, yet, but at level 74 when you start wearing mythic and above armor you will want full matching armor sets. Example: All plate pieces, or all leather, etc. on a character. Having all four armor pieces be the same on a character gives a massive % boost to those armor stats. Mythic is, IIRC, +30% to every stat on the armor, and every tier above increases it a little (trans/sup/ult). Due to this you want to collect a large number of armors and maybe sort them in folders (Tower builder> Leather/pristine/etc.) for any armors that seem like they can be useful and sell the rest cause you do have an inventory limit. This way you can always have an extra piece to fall back on to complete a set. In some cases a piece may seem not nearly as good as another you have but if it completes the set it may provide significantly more stats from the entire set bonus than mix and matching.
Your App doesn't need tower HP if you aren't building walls, typically. Minion walls will take care of protecting them and reflectors for ogre spit balls. However, tower hp can be useful for challenge maps (but that isn't very important compared to campaign/survival). Just don't neglect making a series EV for buff beam and the summoner for minion walls.
For now your stats are fine enough and will get a massive upgrade once you hit 74 and start farming mythics (mythics are a ridiculous power up over the godly you have... you can get 2-3k+ stats in good mythic gear).
Regarding gear farm some tips:
Campaign/challenge maps are typically for weapons (not survival, survival gives garbage weapons due to rollover bug, basically stat is spawned so high it rolls negative then low positive due to poor programming). Also, some even get solid but random pets.
Survival is for purely armor and pets. Pets occur at X number of waves like wave 15, or 20, etc. depending on map and are static to those maps but some maps can reward the same type of pet (Fairy, genie, etc.). There is a trick to make it only spawn armor since you don't want the weapons in survival but only use it if you don't need a DPS to help your build, basically good enough build to afk handle it except occasional repair. That is running only summoners as active heroes during battle wave. The reason is loot drops based on what characters active on field can use. Squire? Shield + Sword + Armor. Huntress? Ranged weapons + armor. Jester can use every weapon... so yeah. Summoner can't use any weapons so only armor. Armor is also worth more mana so it makes faster money, too, for the ones you sell.
Difficulty multipliers like MM (Mixed mode) and hardcore increase difficulty but also loot quality, and exp (mainly campaign tho cause exp sucks in survival compared to how fast you can farm it in campaign).
Pets are typically farmed in insane, NOT nightmare for most of the older maps (shards and older) tho you can try farming shard maps in NM but it will take extra effort to get something good. The reason is cause pets also stat roll over a lot due to the bug and thus nm ones are typically bad while insane ones are quite solid. In some of the maps after shards they changed this. They didn't fix the bug so the grind for NM is still there, they simply nerfed the insane version reward of pets in some of them so much they aren't worth squat so you have to grind NM until you get what you want.
Once you get full mythic/trans gears farming some of the better accessory maps is the next way to massively boost stats. These can give 200-500 additional stats per accessory per stat, but they take half decent gear to farm and a lot of money to upgrade... around 30b for first 40-50 levels, after that every level is 1 mana per upgrade on accessories... yes a hidden weird rule).
Only wuestion for now: I tried Tavern Defense Insane, but i have no chance. I farmed the ramparts insane hardcore for the most part in order to get my EXP. Should i stick with this or do you recommend something else? Okay 2nd question: Once i hit 74 which level on which difficult can i get my next gear upgrade? Thx <3
I recommend trying Insane Aquanos and, again, skipping boss and final wave (when I say final wave that is final wave + boss section of final wave) when exp farming. Honestly, this map would be easier with a Squire if using only a single hero for speed farming so if you can't handle it...
Try Glitterhelm. Glitterhelm offers excellent overall exp until you can handle some of the harder ones and it is pretty easy to build for.
Make sure you are using a series EV and using auras if you need to (likely need to if using App). EV Buff beam can roughly TRIPLE DPS tower performance while also boosting range a lot. Example: At a defense point 3x Lightning Tower suddenly do around 9x LT worth of DPS and may have range boosted enough to cover other areas. That is a huge increase in DPS.
Squire is easier if doing ONLY one type of build for easier maps until you start getting to harder maps like Tav Def for exp because no element on Harpoons. However, App is far superior as you progress into the game as buff beam + LT/DST can eventually start having builds where you have like 6-8 LT (maybe some DST mixed in, or in rare cases all DST, but LT are typically more used) in one spot on a map on a buff beam hitting that entire chunk of map or even in many the ENTIRE map. The rest of DU would be on traps/auras/reflect beams.
At level 74 Try farming Magus Quarters (even better is Alchemical Lab IF you can beat the boss or get help beating it to unlock survival on nightmare) and both maps on nightmare, hardcore, mixed mode. You wont stand a chance at nightmare tho if you don't have a traptress, aura monk, and summoner also level 74 and your EV able to build buff beams (EV can be like level 20 tho just needs to build buff beams and reflectors). If you don't have those at level 74 get them to 74 first on insane difficulty maps and then jump into the maps mentions on NM doing survival to farm the armor and progress from there as mentioned above.
If you see anyone doing Tavern Defense, Tinkerer's Map, Moonbase, or Akakiti on nightmare campaign try joining them as many will let you join as long as you help upgrade or sometimes simply afk entire time for massive exp. Just ask for permission if there are extra slots before you bring in more than one character... some might let you but others will obv be mad for good reason if you didn't ask and don't act needy/annoying. Moonbase/Akakiti still give okay exp but give you opportunity for the map completion rewards while the others will give tons of exp.
Here is an example of some of the stats you can achieve.
Note the dice pet is an event item as is the Memoriam claws but you can get comparable pets (which is why the dice is huge). In fact, you can also trade for event items as long as you have something worth trading to other people for it like enough mana/good ult++s, etc.

Here is my summoner to show you how I prioritize the stats (the tower rate/range could be zero for all I care, it doesn't scale). As well as an example of a higher end pet tho note these are no where near top end Treadmill on Treadmill stat rolls (they cap at 800, and if lucky in 2-4 stats). I simply can't be bothered with the dumb dance mini-game nor do I even need to push my stats further at this point anyways. Honestly, there is a point of diminishing returns where marginal gains simply aren't worth it in this game for the effort involved when you can do just fine without the best of the best so don't stress getting absolutely perfect stuff. Even much lower stats than what I have are typically way overkill with a good build.

For sharken and genies the gas traps are excellent at disabling them so they don't cause issues. DST are great as well as LT. Try placing like 7 or more LT on a single buff beam and then when it is all upgraded watch it go to town (might require a bit more stats before it really shows its value tho, not sure never tried at those stats of urs). Don't forget to add 1-2 spiders at your minion walls to web ogres so ogres take 2x dmg while webbed from your towers.
I'm from the initial beta phase of the game which was like 2011 or whatever and kept coming back when they added new major content, increased level caps, higher armor tiers, etc. Back then initially survivals were literally 13-20 hour map runs for 20-30 waves (thank god they changed that eventually), loot rates were far worse, and exp was much more brutal to earn. Getting a good tower pet might take days of running where now you can get things like Fishbowls and Treadmills in minutes to a few hours depending on how decent you want it from short campaign runs rather than doing long survivals to end up with a turd rock or something and have to do it all over again. Also probably most of my time despite all that is just helping players rather than progressing myself and being afk alt tabbed (almost 80% of all my game's times in my library are like that, I even have a few JRPGs on consoles I've hit 999 hours from leaving running excessively idle even if actual playtime is like 20 hours, I know terrible habit lol). I just got too bored to actually play the game now days tho not to mention limited time and already did the same with DD2 so now just waiting to see if DDA will be worth my time one day but refuse to play it in Early Access unlike DD1 & 2 considering its current state and the developer involved.
