Attack rate of archers capped ?
I have 2 archers, one is under buff beam, one is not.
Even the numbers mention that attack rate is higher on the one under buff beam, but they attack at the same rate of fire against this dummy (by eyeballing it).

is it a bug or is there a hard cap for attack rate on archers and EV buff beam should focus on damage only ?

The cap is on the archers, not the buff beam. That being said buff beams have extremely diminishing returns, where the first 500 stats will give it 2x damage, and the next 5000 will only add another .3 so I wouldn't worry about it too much

So summoner should focus on summon damage ? How high should the attack rate be to reach attack rate cap of archers (assuming they would be under buff beam).

2k rate should be fine I think? Summoners also need quite a lot of minion hp to survive well because mage healing is a % heal rather than scaling off damage

There is no cap on rate scaling for archers. However, the scaling is not all that great. In this video you can see the difference between 2k and 8k rate on an archer:

Rate is nice to have, but HP is much more important, and damage is also significantly better than rate. Likewise, there is no rate cap on buff beams, but the scaling is pretty atrocious, so I wouldn't worry too much about your rate stat on EV.

As someone who started anew with a summoner together with a friend as EV and another one as Squire, this is good to know xD

You might want to tell your squire friend to roll a male monk, then you will have the best triumvirate of heroes. Summoner can defend with minion walls and later game without monk is impossible.
Of course its up to you, play however you want.

Ohh I thought a squire had the strongest towers? So monk would be better? I don't know how we would defend then though? Like my archers currently do around 2k damage per shot while he has more range and faster attack speed with 3k damage per shot while doing AoE?

I mean we're open for suggestions, I basically told him it would be best with this and I believe he'd be open for Monk play as he already said that the Squire is somewhat boring.

Summon your archers as a wall (3 is usually enough) with one mage as healer behind them. EV drops buff beam under archers and there you have a wall that cant be breached (and heals itself).

Monk auras become so huge later on that they cover half of map, they are invaluable.
even on lower levels monk aura stacks can defend any trash mob if built right. Then its just a matter of dealing with ogres.
