Loot at the end of summit
I'm wondering, does the mana and the loot that's on the ground end up in our item box or is it just left behind?

Not exactly. Everything that despawns at the end of a wave (and when returning to tavern) gets 'sold', its mana value is given to you. This includes all the items and mana tokens.

Which means going around and picking up everything is pointless.
The mana value from items and tokes is distributed evenly between all players.
This happens if you choose 'return to tavern' or 'next level'. Items are not being sold if you choose 'restart level'!
