Hawk Stance

I haven't really used my Barbarian, he is lvl 90 with 2.1k Hero Damage and 2.5k Hawk. I have 600 points to put into one of these, so which do I do?
On a DPS EV I have 3k in both Damage and Ab2 as I found that to be scaling better than all in one or the other, but I heard the Barb is different, dealing more damage with Hawk Stance if you put more points into Hero Damage over Ab2.

So what should I do, Should I put everything into Damage? or make the stats 1 : 1 ?

all the Info around this would be helpful for the Barb section of my guide(Scaling is a lot harder to find reliable info for as some sources are from 2012/13 and not sure if anything has changed).


Bonus: Whats better out of the Rogers Revenge and the Undertow? I can do Bucc bay in half the time as ToW. I would go for a saw or SoE, but the Saw is never good, and its much harder to farm SoE's.

Export your data and you can test the actual gear you have then eport again and test the same gear built a different way

the information you get from this forum is helpful but not always accurate , unbiased,or up to date

as I said, I'm farming maps and would rather wait for an answer than do testing myself.

Well hawk stance also depends on the weapons used high base damage will result in more damage unsure of hero atk and ab2

Focus on Hero Attack with a few points in AB2. For some weird reason Hawk damage doesn't scale as much with AB2.
My current Barb build is like this -- 6055 Hero-Damage and 2970 Hawk. Gets me about 45m Hawk on each of my Glacier with the Tavernkeep skin equipped.

I assume thats without a cat/other boost and the combined damage of both swords?

he is just not good on nm unless you need a wall

do you mean the barb isnt good? the barbs burst damage is amazing vs bosses especially things like sky city boss where you can complete it faster in less phases. Also the old one is a piece of cake, just 1 shot every crystal with hawk.

Until about 5 months ago when people discovered Series EV was absolutely busted, everyone had and used a barbarian on a daily basis.

What Reason? the fact that he deals the highest spike damage out of all the classes, the fact that he is simply the best to play as for Goblin Cruiser and Old one (allowing you to only do 1 phase), provided you are farming for Swords. He is even good for the Ember boss battle as when the phoenix charges, you can hawk it, taking huge chunks of HP out of it at a time.
The Barbarian is over-rated, but he is a exceptional for certain bosses. and usually helpful. He is a good alternative to those who don't have a DPS EV equipped with an Ember Sceptres(EV's are only really ever good when they have a sceptre, chickens out DPS them if they dont)

It's with a 188 Cat. So the combined damage from both the swords would be 45m + 45m = 90m.
No monk boost or Initiate drain though.
Edit: So with 6K Boost and 5K Drain it does 355.77m per sword, so total 711.5m -- https://i.imgur.com/OPcukRC.png Of course... Initiate Drain doesn't apply on bosses, so that doesn't count but yeah. Also my Barb isn't the best since I went for better looks rather than brute-force stats. So my accs are pretty low stat, infact my mask is the classic Odin's Mask(Old Event Item) which I totally upgraded coz why not.

On the topic of DPS EV vs Hawk Barb, that depends. For bosses that don't have any max damage taken threshold -- basically all bosses other than -- Summit Dragon(Under Fireball Mode), Djinn, Kraken(I think?), Old One, Sky City Goblin Airship, the EV is better since it simply does higher sustained DPS so the bosses die faster.
But for those listed bosses, i.e. again -- Summit Dragon(Under Fireball Mode), Djinn, Kraken(I think?), Old One, Sky City Goblin Airship, the Barb is better since you can 1 shot all of them.
Play a run of Boss Rush you'll see how effective Barb still is.
With that said, generally EV is now the new meta-bosskiller.
