Best maps for various items?
As of 8.3.1 what are the most notable weapons and pets, what maps should I farm?
Also what survival maps for armor?
How about accesories?

(Weps good for Squire = Good for Barb too)
(%% at the end Indicates new content added or old content re-used in a better way in v8.3)

DPS Weapons:
  • Moonbase -- Monk, Apprentice, Huntress
    • I like the Huntress wep from here, but it's generally not well received, dunno why.
  • Crystalline Dimension -- Monk, Huntress, Squire.
    • I like the Apprentice staff, but if you are going to use a staff with wider projectile spread, might just use a Classic(Boss Rush) or the one from Moonbase instead since both are far easier to farm and can be gotten upto 4 per run unlike just 1 per run on CD.
  • Embermount Volcano -- Apprentice(Also the best EV Proton Blast weapon), Squire, Huntress.
    • Note that there has been an accidental stealth nerf on the Huntress weapon. Information has been forwarded to concerned people. But just in case anyone else is wondering why theirs might be doing less DPS, it got messed up.
  • Akatiti Jungle -- Monk, Squire.
  • SkyCity -- Monk, Squire.
  • Temple of Water -- Apprentice, Squire. %%
  • Buccaneer Bay -- Squire.
  • Tinkerer's Lab -- Huntress.
  • Temple of Polybius -- Monk. %%

Hero / Tower Stat Weapons:
  • Moonbase -- All 4.
  • Embermount Volcano -- All 4.
  • Akatiti Jungle -- Monk, Squire, Apprentice.
  • Temple of Water -- Apprentice, Squire. %%
  • Buccaneer Bay -- Squire, Huntress.
  • Temple of Polybius -- Monk, Huntress. %%
  • Quest for Lost Eternia Shards -- Aquanos, Sky City on Survival for all 4 classes.

Armor, on survival of course:
  • Moonbase NMHC (+MM, optional) -- 1 Crystal build.
  • Don't waste time on anything else.
  • Maybe King's Game NMHCMM and Aquanos NMHCMM if you can't do Moonbase, yet.

DPS Pets:
  • Tinkerer's Lab Insane HC, or NMHC Wave 35 reward -- Mega Chicken.
  • Embermount Volcano NMHC Wave 30 and Wave 35 rewards -- Ember Pony and Fenix, respectively.
  • Aquanos NMHC Wave 20 reward -- Seahorse.
  • Temple of Water NMHC Wave 30 reward -- Seahorse(will roll better than Aquanos, but map is hard). %%
  • Don't bother with anything else, for now. Maybe Monkey(Akatiti Wave 25) and Parrot(Buccaneer Bay Wave 25), but rest are trash, "generally".

Hero/Tower Stat Pets:
  • Moonbase Campaign/Survival(Wave 35 Completion) reward for doing DDR Machine -- Fishbowl. [Soft cap 500, can roll 600] [Usable at level 70]
  • Moonbase Campaign/Survival(Wave 35 Completion) reward for doing DDR Machine with 42 Score -- Treadmill on Treadmill. [Soft cap 700, can roll 800] [Usable at level 100]
  • Embermount Volcano Survival(Wave 40 Completion) reward -- Animorphic Ember. [Soft cap 800, can roll 825] [Usable at level 100]
  • Temple of Water Survival(Wave 35 Completion) reward -- Sea Turtle on a Treadmill. [Soft cap 750,I think? Yet to farm one] [Usable at level 90, I think.] %%
  • Buccaneer Bay Survival(Wave 35 Completion) reward -- Pirate Skeleton on a Treadmill. [Soft cap 650] [Usable at level 83]

Accessories:
  • Temple O' Love -- Full set, minus Shield.
  • Winter Wonderland / Silent Night -- Full set, minus Shield.
  • Greater Turkey Hunt 2 -- Hat, Mask and Shield.
  • Embermount Volcano -- Full set, minus Shield.
  • Pirate Invasion -- Mask.
  • Palantir -- Full set, including Shield. mid tier for stats.
  • Crystalline Dimension -- Full set, including Shield. low-mid tier for stats.
  • Lab Assault for low - mid level accessories. Won't get accessories from the maps listed above anymore.

Edit: Forgot this:

Non-DPS Boost/Healing Pet:
  • Temple of Water NMHC Wave 25 reward -- Fairy, can roll Ult more commonly now. %%
  • Sky City NMHC Wave 25 reward -- Propeller Cat.

Well I farm WW for them new candy bracers, they roll very well. Moonbase and ToW (elder staff) are some other maps I farm.
The author of this topic has marked a post as the answer to their question.

You were right, was about the new (hard) maps. Simple said if they are worth the efford to learn and for what.
Also does NM now always award better gear than Insane?

For the most part yes, only thing I can think of are Kobolds that still roll better from insane... I think.

IMO, Temple of Water is certainly worth farming. Both the weapons it gives are nice. The Water\Elder Staff specifically is quite accurate. Fantastic for flying Bosses -- Cupids, Phoenix, Kraken(maybe?) if you can't farm Embermount. And unlike the Bloodshot it does generic physical damage, so that's a definite plus.
Also its the only survival map with a sure shot at farming Fairies that roll Supreme and Higher qualities often. So if that is something you seek, it's worth attempting.

Temple of Polybius you can skip and won't miss much on. The Monk weapon is a nice to have ranged weapon, but you can be just as good(or even better) without it by just using a Melee Quietus or Etherian Spear. And the Huntress gun is garbage for DPS, it won't beat out Blaster Rifles and Etherian Energy Cannons. Both weapons do roll fairly high on stats though, so for tower characters it is something to consider, but there are other easier options, just not as good but will do the job.

Kobolds, and Turtles and Skeleton on Treadmills all roll better on Insane vs NM.

So for Tower Weapons, you suggest to play Aquanos and Sky City in survival modus? I just thought surivival usually gives no good weapons, that´s why i ask for clarification.

That is correct. See, the Shards DLC maps can drop Ult++ weapons, and their stats tend to roll quite higher than "vanilla/generic/base" game weapons, which makes farming them for tower(or stats) weapons worth it at lower stats.
Survival doesn't give good DPS weapons.
Double Dark Feb 20, 2018 @ 7:29am
Akatiti and Embermount rewards up to 650 per stat. Moraggo's survival staves drop up to 500 per stat. Spinal Sword, Bone Sword, Skeletal Blade, and Bone Saw are very common survival drops that give up to 450 per stat. I believe most other rewards go up to 450 per stat. I haven't completed Poly on NMHC or I'd have an opinion on those weapons. For the most part Obsidian weapons are what people farm except for guns.

NMHC usually rolls better than Insane HC, but there are a few rewards you can farm on Insane much faster and easier that still have extremely good stats. See Acen's guide in the weapons section for a list:

According to his guide Crystalline staff/sword and Blaster Rifles drop better on Insane, but I think Blaster Rifles and Mega Chickens now drop very slightly better on NMHC. The guy has 7000+ hours on this game so I'd trust the information.

Poly Weapons have the highest stat rolling for any Monk and Huntress reward weapons.
RedKirby Feb 20, 2018 @ 9:38am
Does the kraken kannon beat out moby's in terms of upper stats limit? Or are they more or less same?

Seaturtle on a Treadmill has 700/725 caps with same speed bonus as turtle on a treamill, courtesy of Plane.

For what it's worth, I've been trying to farm up tower blasters/sword of embers/mischef makers, because these weapons have intrinsic speed bonuses, but the blaster and sword of ember do lose out in terms of pure stats to the best tower alternatives. But I don't have ult++ weapons for my builders so I figure the spd bonus is worth the slight loss in maximum stats. YMMV.
Double Dark Feb 20, 2018 @ 9:49am
I'd prefer screenshots or numbers. It seems like Ult++ items can roll stupidly high on a lot of newer rewards. 849 per stat? This includes Embermount and Polybius at least. I've seen some hacked items in Plane's screenshots that seem to suggest this is some sort of upper limit on initial stats but I'm unsure if this only applies to Ult++.

I've seen Kraken Kannons, even Transcendent ones spawn with 700 on one stat. Which I've personally not seen on Moby's. So I would say Kanonns do roll better than Moby's. Same for Mischief Maker vs Ember Crescent.

As to Sword of Embers, they roll about the same(or maybe little better) in terms of stats as Steam Saws and to an extent some low end Gladiuses. Then again I've never really bothered farming much swords from either maps.

849 stat thing is basically a client side stat bug. If you see someone with multiple 849 stats, their gear is 99% hacked. The actual number for the 849 thing is usually 999999 something stat on the person who has the gear.
Double Dark Feb 20, 2018 @ 10:54am
I was checking the trade forums and like I said Ult++ can drop with over 800 in a stat. I never saw Undertow or Elder Staff roll that high, so I'll assume the high stats are from Polybius only. I gave up on that map after multiple days of attempts because I would always lose to webs or body blocking. Maybe Insane HC Polybius drops high stats?
Black Mambo № 5 Feb 20, 2018 @ 11:56am
Insane HC drops Ults, but not as high as NMHC.
And yes I don't think Undertow and Elder Staff stats roll quite as high as Polybius. Ult++ maybe, the rest are not as high.
