Lightning towers
Since I restarted playing I had the notion to do all campaign maps with new toons, for my first heroes I chose Adapt (or whatever that female wizzard is called, it has been a 1 year hiatus so Im am a nab again) and EV.
On my first boss fight I placed 3 LT's and some BB's and magic missile towers, I also am using planes Emulator that I am not used to.
So the boss spawns, I try to remember what keys to press to move my builders out of the way and then the boss died, I am playing on hard/HC with level 30 heroes, is it meant to be this OP?
If so I will redesign all my builds to incorperate more LT's.

Yes, they are very borken at the moment, they pretty much carry any map by themselves.

I thought that this was maybe due to my lower difficulty I was playing, ok, back to planning new builds for NM HC as soon as my new heroes are high enough, thx for the answer Washboard.

They might be stupid op now but that doesn't mean they aren't fun, I hope you enjoy using them :D

Well I am sure I will, I am dying to find out how they will play out on the last campaign map (with the dragon, omg, I rly don't know anything anymore it seems) ramparts? Oh well, I am just happy that I can have fun again in this game, a few good new maps, QoL changes and now also the OP LT's :D

LT are over the top because CDT and whatever little TE oversight they are subject to, does not care that they are. Situation made worse by the recent 'event' where they decided that hacked guardians were a good idea do hand out on ranked.

Related? No, how could you think that... /sarcasm. Current meta: LT+beam+monk towerboost+guardians.

Hey Tydo, long time no see, do you think they will change the LT's back to former values? Meaning less damage? At the moment I feel like they make the game easier so it might be better for new players?
The guardians were a nice add tho, I have Ginger :)

I was noticing doing the lab defense that sometimes creeps can walk right up by them without the LT firing at them. Is there a minimum range for them to work? I was using strength drain auras so Im sure that the creeps werent immune.

For a lightning tower to start attacking, it needs a direct line of sight over a fairly short distance to a target. Once it starts attacking, it can keep chaining onto new targets without direct line of sight, even if the initial target dies.

Lightning towers also have a limited number of chain targets based on range stat, which is not affected by buff beams. On a larger map like Tinks they'll never be able to hit all the targets at once, even if they can potentially chain to all of them, whereas electric auras will always hit all the targets inside their aura radius (but for less damage).

These limitations are why LTs generally can't replace electric auras, even though they're much more powerful than auras overall.
Anyone else notice the traps of various heroes seem OP now, or am I just better than before? Deadly Strike Tower from apprentice has a huge FOV, I could swear the minions are dealing more damage, and (rule of three) were ranger's traps always so powerful?

You know even if they could change the LT it probably ends up being underpowered yiur not forces to use them harpoonaare an option to and so are party poppers but overpowered means they get used however of you would make them underpowered they either will get used alot lessbbut more likely never get used that's balance in a nutshell
