Making a Summoner, what's a good stat spread?
Evenly put it in tower stats and casting speed? I plan to be in overlord mode as much as I can, pets are purely stat boosts. Viable?

I forgot minion movement speed and flash heal!
So primarily, put points in the five stats I mentioned and put a few in flash heal/minion movement?

The best 2 stats for a summoner are Tower Health and Damage. Tower health so the mages can heal more as it works of a % healed, making Minion walls(A line of Archers usually) almost invincible. and Tower Damage because, well, You want towers doing a lot of damage, Try to keep T-HP and T-DMG close together. Attack Rate is the next thing you want as it increases the speed at which mages can heal as well. Range for archers has a cap of 500 when placed on buff beams. They have a max arrow range, where as the other minions don't, so just put points into this how you wish. Minion speed is much less important, if you are placing minions correctly and not having to move them around to much. Cast rate, while being quite important, has the same cast rate in combat phase no matter what the stat is, but in build phase, it does change, so add points into it depending on what it currently is. I'm thinking about writing a guide soon about classes(and maybe sub-classes), if there isnt one already, to help players decide how to build their characters and Ideas for new characters..

I have a stat spread guide / post somewhere here on these forums, just need to dig it up.
Gimme a few minutes, I'll find it.

Ok, I appreciate it and I have an idea on what direction I wanna take my summoner in, but I have two final questions... Eh, three, actually.
I plan to stay in overlord 24/7, hero damage/health worth investing in?
Where can I find DD players because all the ranked matches are... Gone, I assume hackers.
I know that summoner synergizes perfectly with any defense unit user, but can summon stand(float) on his own on the hardest maps?

Nope. Unless you do survivals with an Active Summoner, I won't bother with Summoner Hero-HP or Damage. However the SUmmoner Flash heal ability is certainly good in Overlord mode. That is worth investing in.

Ranked games are there, it might be that you are less than level 90? Some people who make lobbies with their level 100 char usually don't change the minimum level requirement for others to be able to see their lobby. So for instance I started a public game with a level 100, the default required level to join would be 90. But for others who are lower levels, for them to be able to see my lobby I'd have to change the level requirement down to 78-74. Only then would they be able to see my lobby.

Apart from that, it could also be a time-zone issue. I'm in India, so when I play, the NA community is mostly sleeping. But there are quite a few Ranked lobbies all the time.

Unfortunately most, if not all, end game maps require you to have multiple builders to be able to have a good shot at beating the map. With just Summoner alone it's impossible to win end game maps.
I'm assuming we are discussing on NM difficulty mode, becasue I have no idea how the summoner would hold up in same maps on lower difficulties, by itself. My bet would be you'd still need other tower characters to help around in certain places.

Hero stats arent worth investing in at all, keep them all at 0 if you wish, even cast rate(only for summoner though). DD players are all off playing privately and the ones who aren't are probably around your stage of the game(LvL 0-60 usually) or as mambo said, the minimum required level is higher than you are. The summoner can complete the base game + the Quest DLC maps with only Minions damaging enemies, Refer to the "Real Time Strategist" Achievement. The hardest maps require multiple builders, so dont worry, you will have them at that stage.

Good thing I planned to use a monk as a secondary! Is that a good idea? Slow aura to keep them off my archers, strength drain to keep my minions alive longer, potentially shock aura to thin the herd for my minions to take out the big ones. Come to think of it, is there any point to healing or frenzy aura?
SerOffline-Alot Jan 21, 2018 @ 2:20am
A standard Aura Stack, which includes an Ensnare, Lightning and Strength drain, will effectively remove the basic enemies from the picture, allowing your minions to take care of the ogres.

I'm writing my guide now, and hopefully it will be up within the next 2-3 days. It will have info on stuff like that, but in more detail.

But uh, I know I said I had only three questions, but now I have more.
What's the point of healing and frenzy aura?
My sister is gonna play a jester again, most likely, should she spend most of her time upgrading via wheel, or clearing out enemies? Also she hasn't made her character and my summoner and monk are 5 and 9.

Healing aura is helpful with bosses if you dont have a beastly DPS character, and the Engrage(Frenzy) Aura, can give you some breathing room if you place one in certain choke points(Areas where mobs gather in nice clumps).

Enrage just makes mobs attack each other.

Stall for time, clear out most of the non-fire mobs. Sounds pretty good! Thanks!
