how to install mods

hello fellow arma cwa enthusiasts,
i really am desperate to get to play mods as all i can play is the set game. detailed guidance from experienced mod downloaders will be appreciated.

Hi.

When you downloaded a mod, just copy the mod folder to the arma / ofp directory.

For example the mod @ecp.

To run the mod add this paramenter to the exe.

-nomap -nosplash -mod=@ecp (or the name of your mod folder)

thanks a lot P.G, I have allready tried to download a mod but the instructions are very similiar to what you pprovidied me with. the funny, odd looking words with the dashes in front (a testimony to how new i am to downloading mods) were in the instructions. what i really need is a step by step instruction. thanks a lot though anyway, i really appreciate you trying to help me.

Check this page for a very visual step-by-step of how to install and run a mod (this one is for the VTE mod, but you'll get the idea). The part that confuses you is explained at the end: http://tactical.nekromantix.com/vte/vte_install.php

An alternative is to use a launcher, like OFP Launcher v2.18 by Kegetys. It works for CWA also, just remember to set the path corectly in that program (so it points to your CWA on the steam directory): http://www.kegetys.fi/ofp/launcher218.zip
