framerate wont lock to 60

tried using Geforce to get 60 instead of like 400 but it wont change it , just stays the absurd high framerate

You mean that turning on the vertical sync in Nvidia control panel (you mentioned Geforce) doesn't work for you?

yeah v sync on the nvidia control panel doesnt work, i have max frame rate at 60 and even have v sync turned on in game and panel. its very strange.

When you open CWA config program (Steam Library>CWA>click green "play" button and select "configure advanced options"), do you have your Geforce card set as display device?

Also, many people do this, maybe you have also a non-Steam installation of CWA, and Nvidia Control Panel applies settings for this particular executable - if so, you'd need to add Steam installation manually.

yeah the display is my GTX and my version is the steam one.

There is a DX8 to DX9 wrapper posted for the game at pcgamingwiki.com -- this locks the game at 60 here if I drop it into the main game folder:

Might also still have to force vsync to on in Nvidia Control for the game in addition to this dll -- I happened to have it on when I installed the file as I was troubleshooting it.

The patch above appears to lock to your monitor's refresh rate -- first time was with an old HP 60Hz IPS panel... I tried it on a second system here with a ROG Swift, and I'm getting 144Hz. The setting in the .CFG file in the game's main folder can also limit the frame rate below your monitor refresh rate, if so desired, confirmed this as well.

Also, what krzychuzokecia said as well -- I manually added the Steam path to the game executable in Nvidia Control Panel.
