I think in 17 years I never did this mission quietly, the way OFP/ArmA CWC works on Steam is way different that what I was used to play, so keep in mind that going postal will make more enemies come towards your position, the trick of using the car in Provins only works if you set the view distance at 500 meters or less otherwise tanks will just snipe you.
The T72 at the end probably went there cause as soon the enemy is alerted some of the units scattered around the map with a "guard" init on their waypoint command will make them move from their stationary position and go towards the troubled area to take a look. Also the breaks I took are not randomly picked, as one was needed to make the Hind go through, others were to make patrolling soldiers around the starting area to come to a stop and the last one was not really needed as I discovered that the patrol doesn't come so close to me and the other one moves back and forth around the camp and the trees were covering me from their POV
Also as long you stay inside the tent, enemy will not hurt you instead resistance soldiers especially grenadiers will accidentally kill you, to avoid that you can clip out through the rear of the tent or grab a rifle from a dead body, kill whatever is left and regroup with the resistance, but if a tank is there don't do anything

So as long you are part of the group and as long you're stuck in an M60 lower the VD to 700 meters tops, follow their orders by using either keep formation command or waypoint order, for firing just tell your gunner to switch to MG give him fire order then switch back to Sabot, gunner will automatically pick targets given by your platoon leader, to take down enemy soldiers you have to use the reveal target button.
On missions were you are THE man driving an Abrams and get an handle of your tank you can set the VD back to 5000 meters and go solo while using the other tanks as replacements or shields.I'll probably make an how to into OFP tanks video just for reference :P
P.S. This is basically the way i remeber beating this mission first try (not first playthrough) on my first playthrough i got a different one where you drive a truck in a convoy I believe it depends on the outcome of "Montignac must fall".
It usually takes 3 rockets to kill crew, the way tank damage is modelled in OFP is kinda odd
2 rockets on T80 barrel are enough to shut it down
3 rockets on its butt and it goes boom, also a single Carl Gustav or AT4 will mostly do the trick
4 rockets are normally needed to blow it up
To kill the crew with 3 rockets you have to do as it follows
2 rockets on sides/turret
1 rocket on tracks
Keep in mind that the damage done will be enough to disable a track or the turret so don't hit the same spot twice, it also works for the T72 so let it gobble a rocket on its body and shot the other at the lower part of its tracks, if you get good with sniping tanks you can also disable a BMP that way through splash damage with a single rocket, let the crew bail out, kill them and steal the tank.
This might be patched or maybe not, but for sure it works on vanilla OFP Resistance, when the crew is killed, get first inside as a driver, then as a gunner but don't take the commander spot, the enemy AI will see you as a friendly so you can either run over them, or go postal and kill everyone, be aware that friendly units will see you as an enemy so be sure to tell your squad to hold fire, to park your stolen tank away from your squad or just take the commander seat so they will ignore the empty tank
Go West through the forest you start in, there will be a 2-3 enemies in the forest with you as you head West.
Cross over to the other 'forest cluster' to the south west, there will be '4 friendlies' on the north edge of that forest that will help give you covering fire.
Head through this forest to the South East to the next forest cluster. There will be 1-2 enemies on your way.
You will get some radio chatter queues about the Evac point being 'too hot'. The new Evac spot will be near the forest you're headed towards.
You don't need to pick up the Law, or kill the Hind. You just need to leap frog to each forested area. This is one way the Devs intend the player to get through the mission. Which is why they put 4 friendlies on the edge of the forest, to help guide you.
Not sure it works here though. I think decreasing the view distance might help here too.
Yes.
It's not hard once you know where to go.
There are actually 4 friendlies on the south-west of where you spawn, in the other forest cluster.
If you can make it there, the rest is a cake walk.
Use tree trucks for cover instead.
