Cargo plane
I thought they added a cargo plane with Resistance update? I can't find it anywhere in the editor.

The game never had a cargo plane.

"This is a full list of the vehicles in Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis, Resistance, and Elite.
Aircraft:"

CH-47D Chinook
OH-58 Kiowa
AH-1 Cobra
AH-64 Apache
Mi-17
Mi-24 Hind
Su-25 Frogfoot
A-10 Thunderbolt II
Cessna 152
Ka-50 (Resistance)

Weird, I remember back when it was released one of the selling points was that Resistance added the cargo plane; I know it wasn't the Chinook; cause I was using that on my PC back when I was a teenager before I could get the expansion...

They added the bicycle, the bus, and said air based cargo unit with that update; but I can't find anything online about it; so now I am wondering if this is one of those time line slips...

I swear I remember a cargo plane being added with Resistance, and that was a major selling point.

Maybe you can just use an addon: C-130 Hercules (2.0)

I think that might be what I was thinking of... Vanilla Flashpoint didn't support fixed wing cargo planes, and the update to Resistence added that; then I must of been using an addon when I finally got a hold of the Resistence pack.

Vanilla game does have a cargo fixed wing - a civillian Cessna. That's it however. BI never promised a military cargo plane for CWC or Res - the only feature which was mentioned in Resistance promotional material, but never found it's way to the final version, was a graphical update for existing units and/or weapons (there's visible difference in quality between CWC stuff and Res addons).

Also there was a shortlived Independence Lost game - OFP spinoff set in East Timor. Promotional material was showing US Marine ships, Sea Knights, Harriers and Super Cobras, but no cargo planes either. The first one was made for VBS (the military version of OFP) - namely the Australian edition (and later US one). IIRC C-130 from VBS was actually a reskinned variant of community C-130 addon (made with author's permission naturally) - just like a lot of VBS stuff.

Thanks for that, I like a bit of detailed history to the game.

The large military fixed wing cargo planes were only able to be used in Resistance and up, I think that's what I'm thinking of here; just remembering it wrong and thinking there was a stock unit.

Nah, there really wasn't any technical obstacle in CWC (1.46). It was simply a fact that before Resistance there was no freely available SDK for the game - back in 2001-2002 era modding software was given out by BIS to selected community members in a project known as Breathe/Addons at Ease. After Resistance release software was released to wide public, and most of the new addons required Resistance. IIRC the first "big cargo planes" (CSLA Let-410 and FDF Fokker) were already being made before Resistance (though not released).

There is an engine restriction on objects larger than 64 meters in length, but it was still present in ArmA 2, so no difference between CWC and Res.
