- always use scoped weapons, preferably snipers, when that's possible. Outside the G36 which is better for closer ranges, the M21 is easily the best weapon in the game.
- if you must use weapons with iron sights, try to get closer to the target, but keep in mind that this will also make your chances of survival smaller (you are playing "the Dark Souls of tactical shooters" after all).
- this is one of those classic games that benefits from good anti-aliasing, high screen resolution and/or high pixel density. You can try to enable anti-aliasing in your graphics card settings and if that doesn't work then you can try ReShade, which offers FXAA (blurrier but more performance friendly) and SMAA (higher quality but a little slower). 4K resolution is supported by the game, but I suggest 2.01 patch to get the correct aspect ratio and you can use Nvidia's DSR to have 4K quality image on a 1080p screen if you own a compatible Nvidia card.
- try some modern themed mods like FFUR 2007, which have more scoped weapons.
- if you're still having trouble, enable "Enemy TAG" option in the difficulty settings ("Cadet" setting only).
- lastly, you could mod the game yourself and adjust the zoom of weapons as well as many other things. It's a very moddable game, but you must get down to it if you want to make something.
Hope this helps.
