Alternatively, if you wanted to write to all 4 channels at the same time, you can push the Channel 1 button and make it Channel 4, so that all 4 are edited at the same time. But that's for if you hadn't made the first one yet.
Assuming you have a single note in slot 1 (or just a maximum of 4 notes next to each other), and want to put the same note on slot 5,9, and 13.
1.Push copy
2. Select slot 5.
3. Hold the mouse over paste, and select "P. notes at cursor".
Repeat 2-3, but instead of selecting slot 5, pick a different one.
You can choose the same method to copy/paste sections of notes from a channel to other channels. I agree the program could use a more intuitive selection of notes f ex with where the user just selects the notes they want to copy with a selection marque.
