include a tiny bit of silence padding at both the beginning and the end. Not a lot, but enough for it to break up the seams during loop playback even more.
Martin, I've posted the bug up on trello with my finds. https://trello.com/c/TzHi8eUk/53-seamless-looping-export-errors
-------------
In the meantime, what you can do to get a seamless loop is simply add the trailing end yourself by having the loop play twice while exporting from Rytmik, then in Audacity, cut off the first iteration of the loop so only the second playthrough of the loop is included in the audio file. It's a little hands-on, but probably the easiest task you could accomplish with Audacity too.
You can also zoom in and cut out the silence-padding with Audacity if you made an mp3 export.
... and in regards of MP3, as far as I'm aware Rytmik was adding short break/crack (or whatever you want to call it) even within Rytmik Ultimate (assume it's using same methods for the export).
I sure can find the workaround and even this small bug/glitch won't prevent me using Rytmik and sharing it further, I thought it just may be great to address this within RS especially since it's still under development
I don't think this error would be terribly difficult to fix as it's basically just going to take the trailing sound at the end and lay it back over the beginning of the clip. I'm not sure what the mp3 issue is about exactly, but it could be a matter of having the codec write to file too soon.
In any case, this is exactly why RS remains in test phase. Thanks for calling attention to this issue :)
Well, I wouldn't consider this as an issue while I don't know any DAW which would do this automaticaly. Any music program I know exports just time (or music) range you specify. And the solution with exporting the loop twice and cutting half in some audio-editing tool is exactly what I would use for example with Cubase. Other solution is to leave some empty space after desired range to have those echoes recorded and edit the file in a way that you cut the added time and than mix it to the start of the loop.
But I must aggree that sometimes it would be quite usefull to have such feature integrated, so I will definitely think about it;)
Regarding the mp3, this format is not usable for seamless loops while it adds some empty space before the original sound and after it as well, so the loop is destroyed. If you need some compressed format, try to export wav and than convert it to ogg which behaves much better than mp3 in this case. In future we would like to add export to ogg,
thanks a bunch Martin for your input.
That's true with MP3 it's adding a small "break" to it, but as long as wav works in this way seamless I guess it's just fine to use that format.
I frankly do not have experience with many DAW apps - I just fell in love with Rytmik on first sight :) but fact that others (you know) are not able to create such loop, could eventually give Rytmik one step ahead with such feature others don't have ^_^
... but you know your source code, so you will know if it's doable or not and/or what kind of work it will be, just at least think about it please, I think more people could benefit from this ;-)
