“UnderMine is an action-adventure roguelite, with a bit of RPG tossed in. Blending combat and dungeon crawling from “The Binding of Isaac”, with the progression of “Rogue Legacy”, UnderMine delivers a fresh new entry to the genre.”
As the OP mentioned, The Binding of Isaac is not a traditional roguelike; let alone a roguelike. It is a roguelite. Among many incorrect elements, showcased, roguelikes do not have elements of real-time or progression.
it may be beating a dead horse, as the previous poster mentioned, but not all developers are aware of what constitutes a roguelike and may be guided by the mistakes of other previous developers and inaccurate Steam tags. This particular title has garnered some negative attention, externally, which may not hurt it in the long run, given it is a form of exposure.
Now we can't even call "traditional roguelikes" to real roguelikes.

This one, you build yourself up over time, coming back continuously, mining gold, and then actually depending on the items you find, you can play differently.
Just now, i had an item which strikes lightning when im picking up gold - so i mined to damage enemies in the room as a way to initiate attack.
The floor being electric and all the elements hurting you , is the real world - The environment is there to hurt anyone, or anything that gets in the way
Other genres = top down shooter, melee action- Miner of War MoW UnderMiner Civil War
Love the game either way, no matter what on earth you call it.
All the dead miners fight in Valhalla while we dala what we must on the surface
that topic already been discussed
