Horrible problem! I have a GTX 970, core i7 3770k and 16 GB of RAM, this is definitely not a hardware performance issue.
GTX1070 i7 6700 16GB ram - also does this ^^
it's intermittent,
Like Nantes said, when it freezes, only YOU freeze. Everything else keeps moving. Like during Mortar's moving lasers.
I'd estimate the worst freeze I experienced was maybe up to a half-second! Which in this game, means a really long time.
This really needs to be looked at.
Yup. I've had a number of needless deaths because of it, and dozens of botched rooms where I'd come in with lots of health, only to lose with half of it because the controller decided LAG Freeze at the worst possible time and PWN3s me. :(
I don't think I've seen it in a room that's been empty...
(or maybe I wouldn't pay attention to a room that has no dangers) :)
Bonus note: I hardly have this issue on ANY other game... Steam or otherwise, and I have a crappy graphics card.
Also replace where curses line up due to not being able to see gold on the top walls of stages if more than 9 curses etc.
My half-second freeze with subsequent instant death was at the last stage of that battle where you speak to the mage and knight door-guards, the room shakes, and the two become your allies in the ensuing fight with the surprise enemies. I had just damaged a couple of the spawner-holes with a transmutagen bomb, which I think also set off a special rock nearby that spits out damaging crystal shards when you blow it up, and maybe the combination of all those effects with the amount of enemies is what caused the problem. Maybe.
I’ll also cross-post in BUGS, but I see the dev has come into this thread.
I love the game. Help me play it without it crapping the bed!
look in a 38 minute run, it's maybe all enemies firing at me at once, AND I jump, in that calculation of vectors, and trajectories, it must confuse the engine.
With all my relics and curses. This is the closest thing to real life lag, etc.
Fix: Turned screen shake OFF under 'Game' Options. no lag 'yet'
will update.
{streamed live on youtube : evidence}
This seems to be a Windows problem though, on Linux I can play without any issues even with screen shake turned on.
