Is there any reliable way to farm thorium?

Right now i am kinda stuck because thorium isnt intirely reliable to come across playing normally, and a ton of the collectors pets cost <150 thorium to hatch, ive only been able to unlock the monkey so far with him and it left me at 90 thorium (due to all the thorium i had gained already by playing the game before the update)

but yeah, is there any reliable way to farm this stuff (along with blueprints and eggs if that works)
since the blue thorium chests dont come up too often

Secret rooms usually have blue chests. I have plenty of thorium. Still need 4 blessings, 4 potions, and about 6 relics, and all other pets other than the canary. I find more thorium than blueprints anyway. Still need to unlock the collector though. Be careful you do not acquire the Empty Coffers curse, that will cause all the chests to be empty.

Get the Djinn pet (the one that shows you secret rooms/staircases) and do runs with it, you usually get 100-200 thorium per complete run. The pets are that expensive, because many had 999 thorium before the patch and the devs needed something so we can dumb all of that there. I am nearly back up to 999 again, after unlocking all pets, so yeah not really a good design idea to make them that costly.. if you look at a new player perspective, its even worse..
