Gothic - Steam - SystemPack Patch

Hello,

Today is the 20th anniversary of the legendary Gothic game. To celebrate this we already announced news about our upcoming Gothic 1 Remake.

But as a further gift we are releasing the system pack version that makes Gothic playable like a charm on modern systems here on Steam. Its directly in the default branch.
If for whatever reason you need to go back to the original there is a public branch named "original" that anybody can opt-in.

May the Sleeper awaken!

So this is that 500 MB update I am just downloading?

EDIT: LMAO, it restored my settings to default and changed language to English, even though it is set to Polish in the properties. Guess I have to reinstall.

THIS GAME is the exact version made by piranha bytes BYTE FOR BYTE BIT FOR BIT. That version is THE GAME not a community patch, not a mod not a remake. This makes it look like the system pack is part of the original game and is just a middlefinger at the people who made this game just to get some new players to be able to install it. IF ANYTHING they shouldve put it on a separate branch.

The new update broke my actual and perfectly working Spanish installation of Gothic 1 + System Pack. Luckily I copied my entire G1 folder before the update, I knew something like this was going to happen.

Dear THQ Nordic,
To celebrate this great holiday, please make a gift to loyal fans of the Gothic series and improve the information on the Steam pages dedicated to Gothic games. The Steam store is full of incorrect and out-of-date information about Gothic games! To this day, players keep asking if the game has the Polish language! And yet the Gothic series has it on Steam since 2016! (sic!) Fix these and minor bugs and add up-to-date screenshots from the games belonging to the series. Because the currently posted screenshots of Gothic 1 and Gothic 3 are completely archival materials drawn from alpha versions! Thank you and best regards! Make Steam Sites Stop Misleading Players!
