JYDGE taken down?
From the JYDGE [www.jydge.com] website:

:(

"We received a complaint about the game in its previous form, but we were able to resolve it amicably by agreeing to make a few changes. The game is now removed from sale from various platforms, but we are hoping to relaunch the game soon with a different name."

Please return November 5th, 2024 for more information. You may be surprised.

I wonder what happened.

Thanks for sharing.
Now I'm kinda intrigued.

Is this like when Sequence became Before the Echo because of an extremely obscure trademark that nobody would ever get confused? When I search Jydge on any engine, this game is the singular result.

The front page of the official JYDGE website has since been updated with the following:

The sad news is that JYDGE as we know it will indeed be lost forever. The good news is that we are developing a successor/replacement.

The new game will be something between a sequel and a remastered version. It will contain a lot more new missions (+40 percent to be exact). It will also include all the missions from the original game, but each one has been altered to provide a fresh experience. There will also be more firemodes, cyberware, special weapons, more endings and more secrets.

The new game will be called JYSTICE.

We will be sharing more news within the upcoming weeks. If you want to be the first one to hear about it, or if you're interested in closed beta testing opportunities, please sign up for JYSTICE news.

Games are of course regularly delisted for one reason or another, but seeing as JYDGE was released 7 years ago, it's rather bizarre that 10tons only recently had to delist the game on all platforms because of a "complaint" they received about it. It really leaves you wondering what exactly the complaint was and why it took some 7 years for whoever the complaint came from to make said complaint. I doubt 10tons will ever make the details public, though I have to wonder if the complaint perhaps came from the rights owner of Judge Dredd (or RoboCop) due to JYDGE's perhaps too obvious similarities. Whatever the case may be, the matter was clearly serious enough that 10tons were forced to delist JYDGE as it was and are now changing & reworking the game and will eventually rerelease it under the new name JYSTICE. I wonder if those of us who own JYDGE for whatever platform will receive JYSTICE for free upon its release?
Wow what a bummer. Jydge is my fav 10tons game. Just chanced to look at their developer page and noticed it absent! Anyway, silver lining is more Jydge-like game!

Jydge being delisted is sad but the news of a remaster/reimagining is the best news I've heard this week.

Well why was it delisted would interest me more, cause them not being able to list it anymore makes this sound rather suspicious?
If this does turn out to have anything to do with the likeness to Judge Dredd I have to say, I fully expected this to happen from day one. It was kinda silly to go with the name JYDGE in the first place. Way too on the nose.

Super glad to hear about the new content though. Can't wait.

idk but it would be nice to have a release discount and ontop of that another discount for those who already bought jydge like 10% release discount and 15% for owners of the original game
Wonder who complained about what? Closest i can think of would be maybe Judge Dredd, But i don't think anyone is confusing the two. we probably won't see JYSTICE until like 2026 at least, given the devs are currently busy with Dysplaced.

Wouldn't mind a discount for owning Jydge, or maybe some in-game bonus for it. (ie, a new weapon/ perk/ upgrade/ etc)

Defintiely Judge Dredd, particularly with the I Am the Law tagline. And Rebellion, the videogame publisher owns the rights to all the 2000AD stuff.
