1. To get laid isn't hard. There is only ONE girl in the game after all and it does not rely on Charisma or the Lady's Man perk, but she does care a LOT about how you talk to her. How good you're doing is reflected if you ask how she's enjoying herself, but you only have so many chances to make her like you.
2. You get access to a side quest later that's about killing Neuro demons and they offer mercs for sale just like FSP. You can train a lot of mutants to their random enemy encounters but yeah it's probably a good idea to betray them for Doc Lee's shop, intel, and loot.
3. I checked the scripts and the ghosts still spawn at night but I think the only thing that has to happen is you off the killer.
4. Get laid, just like real life.
1. solved waterfall ghost quest, killed cooper during it
2. solved fire loa quest and killed maman, gave fatty his beans
3. got 10 pears and got laid
4. won trivia twice
5. did small quests (5 oysters, nails and bamboo, broken solar panels, microscope, fixing auto-doc, junebug weapon, erasing tattoo, maman supplies run before killing her, killed pirates in the village for an old lady)
6. got all radio frequencies, but killed main pirate guy just for lulz during chapter 4. redeemed myself by using the altar after
BUT
I didn't help dr. lee killing pirates in order to save neutrality with all the tribes - can it be the case here?
ALSO regarding the ending
Is it possible to negotiate with the main villain? Even with 50 Charisma with all perks I can't persuade this evil doctor to stop.
Is it possible to negotiate will Ozzee? I was nice to him and his crew during the whole game, but I'm still being betrayed.
Why during the ending fight my fourth companion also becomes hostile? Why would the willage waterfall guy support them?
As far as talking your way out of fights, nope. You can talk Dr. Lee into offing himself but that's about it. You can't really skip either of the final fights with a dialogue tree. Dr. Lee will let you do his objective without starting a fight which does make that chapter a bit easier for certain levels of planning. Ozee can't be talked down but the pirate girl can but that's not a test of stats.
Dr. Lee and the pirates is just a gameplay choice. Trade the respect of one faction for sweet mad science gear shop.
I completed the game once again to get her to like me, but it just doesn't turn right. Maybe I HAVE to help Dr. Lee killing those damn pirates to have one more conversation with her or you have to postpone Cooper's murder until the cave? I dunno...
Also, it seems that there are two ways to get laid in this game, since we both got it differently.
And that last damn altar that "turns fear into cheer" was so damn hard to satisfy. I was keep thinking that you need cocaine, but you can't get it until chapter 5, so I kept exploring the game and found one secret stash of cocaine on the top of some cliff, but it still didn't work, lmao. That last sacrifice was so random, I just kept collection ALL the loot in the game with a team of 4 people and bringing it to try... and finally got it. The fact that there are no guides for this game is pretty cool actually, so I totally understand why Brian doesn't share information and doesn't give answers left and right. I might have to complete panama dlc one more time and stream it just to show that i did all i could to get laid with that damn pirate girl, lol
Finally gotten round to trying to finish this.
How many chapters are there? So I know how much to pace myself.
Someone mentioned sacrificing an item on every alter. Should I be doing this? I'm not playing a voodoo character so am just ignoring the altars.
I've gotten to the end of Chapter 3, where it seems like I need to either kill Cherub or kill Mabel. So far I've managed to keep all 4 factions on my side (FSP, Kalfu, Boox, Ronin). But it seems I absolutely need to anger one or the other now?
I'm thinking of killing Mabel and going through the tunnels. I did a brief test run. The bandaged ghouls are insanely difficult. Need to rethink how I do this.
Is there any reason not to kill Mabel? I know players do a run by siding with her, but I'm curious to know what sort of long term effects this has? It feels like the basic, vanilla default run is to kill Mabel and side with Cherub. Is that right? I don't want to railroad myself into some super difficult corner.
Honestly, still enjoying the heck out of this, more than a lot of other games I've started.
Any tips on what to stock up on for the tunnels and after? I got a neural network installed, and was thinking of getting a worm implant, but it's pricey and I'm wondering if I should just gets loads of ammo for my Baron rifle instead.
If you kill Cherub, the ghouls in the tunnels dungeon will still be hostile because they're crazy and beyond even Mabel's countrol, however Mabel herself will join your team and you can have an easily sunburnt undead ghoul ally. If you are currently friends with a certain member of Ozee's crew, she won't really appreciate you icing Cherub but there aren't too many consequences for it.
The ghouls in the tunnels dungeon I think are not particularly strong against melee and can be stunlocked by it. You eat a lot of magic ♥♥♥♥ trying to close the gap but if you draw them around corners smartly you can do some serious damage to them with a katana without letting them roast you. Flame grenades are also a good pick for obvious reasons but really tough to land given the lengthy explosion timers. If you are currently friends with a ronin katana bastard, he is an immense help in this dungeon due to his ability to kill things in melee.
I forget the amount of chapters but the tunnels is basically the third from the last dungeon, it opens directly into the next to last dungeon (With a shortcut back to panama proper) and then after clearing that it opens into the final showdown where the door locks behind, so you're at the last couple of chapters. Of course, by dungeon I mean one big map full of crazy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trying to murder you.
The tradeoff of Neural Worm Implant vs Baron AR ammo is I think just the tradeoff of having to fight turrets or having turrets clear out several enemies for you. In vanilla Brigand it was almost too useful to pass up but you just have a couple of shootouts before the end so it could really go either way. I've done runs both ways and it's handy with but doable without.
OK, I think I finished the game, scoring 1/3 and 2/3 on different attempts.
1/3 was launching the nukes.
2/3 involved having the main character and Ozee next to the chopper while Bella went to Dr Lee, who was outside waiting for me to push the button, dropping a fire grenade at his feet, then quickly switching back to the main character outside the chopper and clicking on it to take off, before any of the now hostile enemies could attack me.
Landed for fuel, had to kill both Bella and Ozee (surprised Bella attacked me too!), then got on the raft and rowed into the sunset.
Is that it? Is that short block of text the ending, saying you never look back?
Because the screen went black and a new track of music started, but nothing was shown. Pushing any button on the keyboard then dropped me back at the title screen. I then tried reloading my save and the game crashed due to an error related to being unable to load some dirt.png file.
Overall not bad. Glad I bought it to support LC. But Oaxaca is def my favourite since there's more opportunity to boost skills and learn abilities. Here, I found I managed to coast right to end while playing it safe. Mainly out of fear of things becoming too difficult if I did anything weird.
Right at the end, MUST you take Ozee with you? Because I spent like 2 hours trying to finish it with Bella and Ballistic. Killing the doctor, killing the Cyber Demon, etc. etc. But always kept dying. Only after a while did I decided to head back out, get Ozee, and then go ahead.
I'm thinking, if it's only possible to finish it with Ozee, maybe you should make a bit more obvious that you need him? Like force the player to have Ozee in the team otherwise the last door won't open kind of thing. Because I was convinced that I could somehow win with Ballistic in my team.
Also, I read somewhere that I could finish it by talking Lee down, but even with Charisma at 41 it wasn't possible. Can you actually talk him down?
Also, since I've now finished it, any fun pointers on stuff to do in this late game area?
