Any Plans for Online Multiplayer?
Hello, I am a fellow content creator who had been really intrigued by this game and the wonderful art style. The only question I really have regarding this game is if you guys will ever do some form of Online Multiplayer, as it's hard for some users to get people to play with in person, yet playing with others online is such an easier task. I'm just curious about if you guys ever have any plans of implementing this in the future!

You can now play online with friends in two ways. One is to us Steam's new "Remote Play Together" feature as described in this post: https://steamcommunity.com/games/652360/partnerevents/view/1555357052120912542

The other is using Parsec as described below:

As a summary: we won't be adding native online multiplayer support BUT you can play BFF or Die as if it has an online multiplayer mode by using Parsec. We wrote a post about how to use Parsec here: https://steamcommunity.com/gid/103582791462498339/announcements/detail/1682551398073335474

@Darkness - Thanks again for telling us about Parsec. I did more testing and was impressed enough to get in touch with them and have a chat. So now BFF or Die is in their list of curated games :) And we're happy to recommend it to people who really want to play our game as an online multiplayer with friends who live far away from them.

Hey FireMonkey,

Glad to hear you're excited and intrigued by BFF or Die :) We don't have any plans for online multiplayer. Instead we have an engaging 1-Player mode in addition to the local multiplayer mode. Both are played offline. 1-Player mode is pretty challenging so we think it will keep fans of PC puzzle/action games interested and engaged.

Cheers,
Shaz (game designer)

FireMonkey, for now you could try using Parsec - parsecgaming.com - to play it online with a friend. When you meet all the requirements with a nice internet and little ping between players, it works flawlessly.

Darkness,
Thanks for posting that info :) We've not used Parsec before but will definitely check it out. If it works well, it sounds like it could be a solution that would enable loads of great games to be played as if online multiplayer.

You're welcome! Many great local multiplayer games are "endorsing" it as an "official" co-op solution (even Guacamelee 2 made a retweet about it today), as they recently added a "party finder" with quite a few games on their selection.

If Parsec works well then it sounds like a great solution. So many games could benefit from a good input streaming service that doesn't feel like it has a lot of lag. We'll definitely test it out soon across different countries and see how BFF or Die plays using Parsec

We just tested Parsec across two countries and it worked really smooth, so I'm impressed! We'll do some more testing and see how it holds up for e.g a 30 min game, but so far so good :) Also we'll need to figure out how to make sure the audio is shared as well as the video. In the first test it was silent for the person connecting but the gusy at Parsec have told us that streaming the audio should be possible. So we'l have to check our settings etc.

It's def a game that's nice as a shared experience. If it's hard to get friends together in the same place then mayeb Parsec could be an option for you. So far it seems good, although I'll have to do some more testing with it. Make sure you sort out group voice chat though with whatever you normally use. When playing BFF or Die with other people you really need to communicate to win.

By the default parsec streams both video and audio - it only mutes the audio on host in case you're granting "admin access" to the other player (allow other to join even without needing to be accepted), at least that's one problem I used to have when checking that option to allow easy join by a friend.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
