The two largest fangames are '.flow' and 'Yume 2kki', info on both can be found on the wiki.
A significant section of famous RPGMaker games have been inspired by Yume Nikki, including Omori, Hylics, the first LISA game, Disillusion and Disillusion ST.
Strange Telephone is also a notable game inspired by Yume Nikki.
Other games that have somwhat similar appeal to a lot of people include 'LSD:Dream Emulator' and 'Cosmology of Kyoto'.
The two most well-known would be the slightly darker, more grotesque .flow; and the collaborative Yume 2kki, a game which is still being actively updated to this day by many talented people.
Both of these games, as well as many others can be easily accessed and played via the Yume Nikki Online Project[ynoproject.net] website.
And while this website allows you to play these games, as well as the original Yume Nikki, as multiplayer games, I would personally advice you to use the private mode, for a more authentic, isolating experience.
On that note, I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a game like Yume Nikki. Omori has a lot more in common with Earthbound than Yume Nikki, the only thing they share being the fact that they were both made in RPG Maker, an not even the same version.
This might be one of those cases where people say this or that game is similar to Yume Nikki based solely on the aesthetic and engine, which happened a lot back in the day (e.g. people did say Ib was similar to Yume Nikki, which is how I found out about it back then).
Outside of the fan games, which have been mentioned twice now, you won't find anything quite like Yume Nikki. The aforementioned Strange Telephone might come close, but I wouldn't say it's close enough.
If you forego some of Yume Nikki's most notable features, however (most notably the effects and how the world connects), you might find games that do scratch a specific itch. For example, if you're looking for a chill exploration game with a looping map, there's Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor. But if you're looking for a retro-inspired exploration game that's all about collecting stuff, there's the rather obscure Hero's Spirit.
But if you're looking for more Yume Nikki, there really is no beating the fan games. I played quite a bit of .flow back in the day, so I can recommend that one. And if you want Yume Nikki but bigger (I'd say to the point of being bloated), you have Yume 2kki, which is the most popular game available on YNO.
But if you don't think so, that's fine 🤷🏻♂️
