Raft
Getting all the upgraded gear at Utopia is cool, but useless and disappointing.
Utopia is the very last stop in raft, and the end of the story. So getting the titanium gear, and the upgraded backpack, AFTER completing everything, feels pointless - there isn't anything to use it on or any reason to have it. We unlocked the gear, but didn't even bother to go finish researching them, let alone craft them. It would have been nice to find all those gear blueprints beforehand, is all.

Would getting nothing from completing Utopia have felt any better?

Yeah, actually. At least then I wouldn't feel like I just got handed a 20% off coupon at the company t-shirt store for 10 years of service.

The gear added at the end serves no purpose, and adds nothing to the gameplay, being at the end of the game. Even the backpack, which is unlocked earlier at Utopia, serves no purpose, as you get it after completing and looting the area. These are upgrades that shouldn't be here. You don't even get the titanium sword until after beating the boss. What's the point of having it? There is no new game +, there is no continued story, and no possible use for any of those items - Congrats you unlocked new items, but this is the end so don't bother with it, you'll never use them anyway.

To add to it, the tools are cool, but ultimately worthless in earlier gameplay as they are expensive to replace, it's easier to just go with the regular metal gear you unlock at the beginning.
