More filling food..
im no stranger to survival games and i can tolerate the '10 square meals' needid a day to survive, but this game seems like 50 square meals a day, everything i do ingame i need to eat/drink first its getting to the stage now that i cant catch enough food to feed myself and get anything else done diving, building, painting, isle hopping etc, im sure its fine for multiplayer but for solo it is too harsh.

Did you try cooking using recipes? Cooking station is pretty nice

As of the most recent patch they've tweaked food and water level drop to be somewhat slower but I still feel like about 75% of my time is spent doing something with food or water even with the advanced recipes and bigger grill. If that's something you, for whatever reason, don't want then you can play on the harder mode and have food/water levels drop even faster. No, thanks.

I hope they balance this out a bit more, but I do find that it's better than it was. I've been playing long enough that I have a fair amount of food stockpiled, but it still feels like you're constantly eating, drinking, and replenishing both food and water. The cooking station recipes need a bowl that disappears after you eat the meal, so you need to keep getting clay and make bowls, and I really don't find they fill you up all that much given that each one takes 4 ingredients, a good amount of time to cook, and usually a couple pieces of wood.

I think what I'd like to see is the status bars drop at a more reasonable rate, food fill you up a bit more than it does right now, but make food a bit harder to obtain and longer to prepare so there's a little less busy work. It's not very hard to get food and water once you've built up a little, but I find it becomes tedious fairly quickly.

I think the cooking pot recipes has really reduced my need to continually eat but water still feels far to quick. I generally cook up large batches at once using many cooking pots and then eat until the green/yellow bar is at it's maximum. One thing I'd like to see is not having to target the platters on the cooking pot station and instead just target anywhere on the cooking station and left click the ingredients and have them placed on the cooking station.

The action of having to fill the water distiller, wait, fill your bottle, refill distiller with salt water, I take into account of the drinking action so with needing to drink and the fill and empty of the distiller we either need the bottles and distiller to hold more or they need to tone down the thirst a bit more in my opinioin.

Yeah, one feature that I think many people haven't noticed (unless they accidentally overeat) is that the food bar grows into a yellow section when eating food that's been prepared via the cooking pot. The yellow section depletes far slower than normal, meaning you can go much longer without having to eat again. I always make sure to do this before venturing out onto a big island.

The bigger grill helps a bit and so does the pot, but you still get hungry rather quickly, and not just "Hey, I could eat..." but "Hey, I'm dying here.. I need food now.. ack, too late." *dies*

In reality it takes a rather long time to starve to death if you have access to water, I know it's a game and they need to create urgency for you to keep eating and drinking frequently, but it's still a bit too often.

I find most of the time all I'm doing is food/water related busy work when food and water needs could be increased, but the frequency you need to stop and eat could be decreased. You'd still have to gather, desalinate water, and cook, but wouldn't have to eat every 2 minutes.

Also how much food fills you up in the game seems a bit off. A huge shark steak would be rather filling, especially if you had an entire mango or some other food, like a baked potato and two roasted beets, along with it. I've eaten a couple varieties of shark and it's rather filling, fairly simliar to tuna steak. One big piece could keep you from starving for at least a couple days. You certainly wouldn't be near starvation just a few minutes, or hours, after eating two whole pineapples, a full watermelon, two shark steaks, and a whole talapia but in this game you're near death just a short while later. It's a bit ridiculous if you ask me. I know they toned it down a bit, but it's still the worst part of the game for me.

I think it would be better if food was a bit harder to obtain, if crops took a lot longer to grow, but you stayed away from starvation a lot longer when you did have a big meal. I honeslty don't think it would be so bad if you only needed to drink water frequently, but having to deal with both so frequently just feels like too much time is spent on just keeping those bars full.

Still like the game though, just hoping for some tweaks to make it even more fun.
