Grappling Hook Climbing

Seems totally reasonable to me that the metal grabbling hook should be usable as a way of climbing up the islands by hooking onto trees.... the plastic one may be too flimsy, but the metal hook, it should be added to the game to be able to climb with it.

That would actually be nice. but isntead of a new item how about useing your metal hook as the grappleing hook as well as a grabbing tool.

There are several uses the hook could have. To access those (nearly) impossible tall rocks on the islands, I like the idea of the metal hook being a climbing tool though. I also believe the hook should be able to grab abandoned rafts and pull them or your raft closer together.

I really like this idea.

As you said, only the metal hook can do it, the plastic is too weak.
It additionally serves as a quality of life improvements in mid-late game when you can climb island on your own without the raft. (just like the grill or the glas water cleaner makes it easier later on to make food and water)

To keep it from being too easy, I'm kind of picturing throwing the hook in a way to loop the rope around a tree or rock. That way there is some skill needed to reach higher spots, and isn't just some 'Batman' grappling hook that sticks where ever you fling it towards.
