New Player, any difficulty mods for this game?

So, I bought this game quite a long time ago and I was bored earlier and fired it up (again).

And I quickly discovered why I never got very far in it, and it's a mixture of things.

Now, I'm a player who prefers my survival crafty games to be a bit more relaxed, and this game is certainly not that. Even on "Easy" mode, it seems like you're in a constant race to hurry up and grab materials as fast as you possibly can, and pray you don't miss any barrels or crates.

The durability seems to be a bit too punishing, especially for the Paddle and the Wood Spear. Just using the Paddle to try and get a few barrels/crates barely out of reach, and it's not even the 2nd day and it's half broken and it takes a whopping 6 plastic to make.

The Wood Spear takes 8 wood and 2 rope IIRC, and 3rd shark attack and it's already down to almost half durability left.

Seems like I no sooner get some materials until I either have to repair/rebuild parts of the raft because of constant shark attacks, or something is about to break and I have to make a new one, or sometimes both happens! I'll be crafting something and I hear chomp chomp chomp... like seriously? Again?

Are there any mods that maybe make the shark attack slower, or maybe make items last a bit longer or something?

The premise of the game seems interesting, but constantly juggling shark attacks and ridiculously small durabilities on items seems like a huge chore. Kinda hard to grow your raft when your wood is constantly going into tools, even if you do find an island, the 1-3 trees on it still don't seem like they provide enough wood, and even if they did, you still need plastic anyhow, and loads of it between the paddle and the hook needing remade every 10 minutes.

Not looking to remove this stuff entirely, but to make it a bit more manageable. Kinda surprised that the difficulty level doesn't do anything for the durability/frequency of shark attacks.

There are various mods that allow you to tweak lot of things like item durability and speed of hunger/thirst. You'll have to pick one('s) that suit your need.

the game gets easier once you tech up. the trick is to tech up asap. you want to smelt iron asap. do NOT waste time on the tier 1 stuff whether that's tools or water purifier/cooker.

One of the easiest ways to reduce wood consumption is to get advanced purifier ASAP as it does not consume wood to purify water. Advanced helps as well. Both also save time for doing other things.
