No Connection to Steam Error

When I try to access the elevators in Tangaroa Island, the game always errors out and says, "left the raft." Also, it comes up the error message, "No connection to Steam. Some Features will not work without an internet connection." When I go to check the internet connection, there's always no issue, so I'm not sure where the problem is. If this has happened to you and you know the solution, please let me know. I would love to continue playing my game.
