Bug Help?

Disclaimer: I did search through the discussions and many people are having the same problem but no solutions seem to be available and the posts go back to 2020. So I am asking in the hopes someone has a solution for everyone and it just is buried.

When I play solo, nothing is going wrong. When friends join they get stuck when they open a chest where they can't back out.

They can move and jump but cant turn or get the menus to go away. They also cant do anything in said menus so they cant drop items or anything.

I can't interact with the chest, removing the chest does nothing, and in the most extreme case I destroyed the raft portions they and the chest were on and even when the chest disappears they are still stuck. We have never had the issues before and none of us ever had issues running the game so at least for us this is a new bug.

This is a normal thing. If it happens to you, you're just screwed. Even if you somehow escape, the next person to touch that chest will be locked into the UI.

this just happened to my brother and I where he was the host. The chest UI got locked on my screen, I quit out of the game and reloaded but the chest animation was forced open and I couldnt interact with it.
We both exited the game/verified files and everything was fixed. Seems like some sort of odd desync issue

Sometimes when this happens to me, I walk into the water to drown. Once I'm revived from incapacitation it's usually, but not always, gone.

your best bet is to quit the game and rejoin, and yes like Cronos mentioned it's probably a desync issue. The bug isn't new and it's been around since I first played Raft back in 2023.
