The new anchor work with remote flip switch, perhaps
due to mass ' wants ' of a remote control anchor while being far away from the ' old crank '.
Still able to have Two Different anchors, the Stationary (crank manually) and the Advanced (remote), where
crank sits at often work area, and the advanced, far at the end of the raft.
Engine control can be close to your work area, or high up in the skies (for remote).
Crank and only the old anchor drops.
Flip of a switch and Both Anchors drop.
May or may not help at all, as
your thoughts are a liitle confusing, complicated and hard to perceive.
For reference, if in similar situation.
These are different issues, did you mean to reference any specific thing in these discussions?
As far as i understand, the new anchor also works manually with a local switch, as the crank does, but only if you don't have engine controls on your raft.
This is one of the workarounds i'm talking about, that i have thought of and hated immediately. First of all, i really don't want to add a new zone to my raft for a second anchor for both design and practical reasons (i'm already nearing 200 bases). Second of all, whenever i drop an anchor, explore something and come back i'd have to remember which anchor i have to now weigh.
Another thing we can do is replacing the old anchor for the new, and then installing a second set of engine controls beside it. This is much more practical; you just use the controls as an anchor switch, or even make use of the full controls from there if need be. This is what i'll do if i ever really want the advanced anchor in the future. But here's the thing --i don't want a workaround, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! There's a switch RIGHT THERE in the anchor, i can see it on the model, i know i can use it if i remove my current engine controls; why on earth can't i just use it?
As far as i understand, with the flip of a switch only the new anchor would drop, right?
Sorry; i'm trying to express myself the best i can, but i'm not a native English speaker. If you want me to elaborate about specific things, i can.
For the sake of clarity: my question is whether i'm understanding this particular functionality of the advanced anchor correctly (you can't use it manually if you have engine controls). Because i find it very weird and inconvenient that it works like this.
In any case, thanks for all your answers to this and my previous question!
I see you as Obstinate, from past and present posts on theories.
You are Not Wrong on why
' can't you use the advanced anchor manually even when the engine controls ' is around '.
Could only say,
the stationary anchor ' already ' have that feature of manually cranking, since past 2~3 years.
the advanced anchor is a QoL tool that is new, and the flip switch is added onto the engine control for the purpose of Remote handling of anchor movement.
Having the Engine control, beside an Advanced anchor, and using the flip switch ' should ' be accepted as the norm motion, since able to control Engines all together swiftly.
Unsure why the unable to accept it notion.
Just build whichever way you enjoy with your creativity, and
make do with ' what we have '.
Make a suggestion if you insist the ' Manual Handle Switch ' should stay permanent on the Advanced Anchor, rather than disappearing just because the ' Flip Switch ' is around.
*if you checked out my screenshot of the Command Center,
I have engine control beside a lower Stationary, and Advanced parked at the back.
Extra engine controls, at the back and on my tower top.
What to use, when to use, is up to own's preference.
Man, don't tell me what to do xD
Seriously though, as i said before, i'm mainly asking because i wanna make sure i'm understanding correctly how the game works. This said, i can't see why can't i "make do with what we have" (which is actually part of the fun) and at the same time complain about what doesn't make sense to me. It's like walking and chewing gum at the same time --easy to coordinate for most people.
That is EXACTLY what i needed to do, and what i've just done, and i hadn't seen the option before in the pinned discussions because i'm dumb. Thanks for pointing it out!
