move raft to a different location, distanced away.
Save. Reload.
Check ' surrounding ' for ' placed object ' even if it is not that close to it, lag/ collision in hitbox may deny the placement.
Large objects like engines, fuel tanks,... etc have hitbox that obstruct certain rotation and elevation.
Rotation helps usually.
if all the above are checked.
Might need removal of all currently adjacent pieces, nearby objects,
focus to build that floor first.
A fresh rotated pillar, then build beams around it, should now be able to place that floor, build out from that.
Due to you using the word ' We ',
multiplayer vigorous movements may cause ' some ' physics problems due to lag, stutter and latency,
experiencing ladders that can't climb but walking thru it, falling through floors,...etc.
just sharing, if it may help.
I would suggest removing/replacing the existing support beam or adding another (short) support beam on another edge of the whole. Most of the time I could remove that additional beam afterwards without further damage... Not sure what causes this.
Like mentioned in the post, we are allowed to build around these ghost tiles so in all we have a floor with 4 random holes in it
Host goes to Singleplayer.
Retry ' carefully ' the steps.
Can't assist further.
(unless you send me the save file, able to take a look at it, and perhaps fill the gap)
Good luck filling the tear in space.
