Raft fortifying question
I'm looking to build an extension off my main raft via angled roof amd floors as a type of bridge. My question is concerning the new raft and the shark attacking the newly placed nets/foundations.

Say I wanted this extension to be 30x30, if I only build the outline of it and fortify each piece, would the shark attack the inner pieces as I slowly fill in the area (they wouldn't be fortified and wouldn't fill out the inner area right away), or are they safe because they are within a fortified outline? I tried testing this, amd didn't see the shark attack any unfortified pieces (even if they were next to open ocean within the fortified outline).

Curious to know if thats how it's suppose to be or if I was just lucky/didn't test long enough.

In my experience the shark will attack the innermost parts of your raft if only the edges are covered, but I have been told that a recent patch resolved this problem so you really only need to fortify the foundations on the edges. I already have my raft covered in fortification so I haven't had the opportunity to test it. The shark will mainly target the newest piece you put down, so at the very least you should be ready to fortify whatever foundation piece you're about to create.

yeah...
your advice is 6+ months out-of-date.
the shark will NOT attack foundations WITHIN a FORTIFIED perimeter.

So if I understand it. I can make a 30x30 outline (picture frame if u will) square of fortified tiles, with nothing but ocean in the middle of it. if I then place an inner outline of foundation not fortified will thr shark go after that inner square or no because its within a fortified square?
Sorry if that sounds confusing

You understand correctly. The shark won't attack the raft anymore if all the outer foundations are fortified. You are free to build your inner foundations without worry.

Thank you, response is much appreciated.

So after playing a bit longer it boils down to, if you make a fortified outline of your raft but keep the inner squares empty/ocean. Until u fill in the whole fortified area with foundation/net blocks the shark will attack any unfortified block that is adjacent to the ocean.
