Raft
Tips and Tricks. Easiest way to kill Bruce and more...
I have found some tricks while playing Raft and I wanted to share them with y'all.

*Bruce- Killing Bruce is much easier than you think. I've seen forums talking about getting in the water and hitting and dodging him but its so much easier than that. I found this little trick out on accident. Make some bait and toss it right onto the raft. You can literally just drop it at your feet. Ready your spear and wait. Bruce will come to the bait and as soon as he does, just stab him with the spear. I've found I can get about 5 kills for one bait when using the metal spear. I like to anchor at an island, toss my bait and rack up shark meat this way. During the down time when waiting for Bruce to respawn, you can cook, smelt, build and harvest. He respawns every 3 minutes. Happy hunting.

*Fishing- I've also found this little trick by complete accident as well. You do not need to cast into the water to fish. Again, you can just drop the line at your feet while on the raft or even on an island and still catch fish. Cast away until your hearts content, or your pole breaks. lol

*Boar- The best way I've found to kill the boar(warthog) is by leading them to the waters edge, (they can only go so far) and spearing them that way. You will have to walk in and out of the water so they keep coming at you but I've found this much easier than strafing. Also, I've found there are areas they get "stuck" like on hillsides and you can literally just walk up to them and stab away. Another trick I've found is, when you get to the larger islands with caves or old chests, you can utilize those areas to your advantage by playing keep away. Hope it helps.

*Seaweed- Lastly, I wanted to cover the importance of Seaweed. It is one of the most important items to collect in mass quantities. It is necessary to make plastic bottles, oxygen masks and flippers. Make sure you collect all the seaweed you find. You'll need it later, i promise.

*Ores- Ores are just as important, if not more so, than seaweed. You will need metal ingot to make many things in-game as well as fortifying your raft. Stock up on as much metal ore as you can and collect plenty of copper ore as that will come in handy in making circuit boards and batteries.

*Misc- Make sure to stop at as many islands as you can in the beginning and collect all the scrap, clay, sand, stone and ore you can. You will need the clay and sand to make clay bricks to build smelters, the sand for glass for advance purifiers, the stone for throwable anchors, the scrap for many items like the scrap hook, which is invaluable in the beginning, and ores to make metal tools and weapons, amongst other uses. Also, make sure to make a research table as soon as you can so you can learn as many recipes as early as possible. This will help your gameplay alot.

I am definitely not a pro, by any means. If you have more tips and tricks, feel free to share them here. These are just some of the things I have found extremely helpful and invaluable to play a successful and easier game of Raft. Happy Rafting y'all. :)

Extra tip about Bruce: If you hold E to harvest him, once killed, and only loot up to 4 pieces of shark meat, then release E so as not to loot his head, then it will dramatically increase the shark's respawn timer. 5 minutes for the corpse to despawn, then 3 minutes for the shark to respawn.

yeah, this is what i do when i kill the shark but mostly i put my raft on the side of the island that isn't where the loot is so no need to kill the shark. I've played the game long enough to learn what islands to stop at and what side i should put my raft on. i always have a good supply of paddles made very early in the game so i can place my raft where i want and to make sure i hit nothing to keep the raft straight.

My best strategy for the shark is: I will park at an island, jump in the water near a reef (I have thalassophobia so I refuse open water fighting lol) and I let the shark charge me. When Brucy-boy starts getting close enough I'll start swimming backwards and then when he's at the moment of going for a bite [with a tiny bit of wiggle room before the bite animation actually goes off] hit him with your spear. It not only cancels his attack if done correctly but if you're fast enough you can whip around and stab him another good 2-4 times and sometimes more if you're fast enough! Take virtually no damage and shark meat for days!

Edit to add: I've actually grown so comfortable with this method that I end up hunting the shark aggressively rather than him hunting me XD

i just get in the water and shoot Bruce with arrows - if you wait until hes close he doesn't bite you. Shoot, turn, shoot, turn. Fast and easy. With the big birds whatever they're called if you have a higher level on your raft then just build a small roofed shelter - anchor as close to the birds as you can so they come for you and they'll just drop rocks on the roof and you can shoot out from under it.

You can simply shoot the shark with a bow and never get hit. Pretty easy.
