Raft

Odd thing with new electric anchor
So my raft / fully equipped cruise liner has 8 engines and 790 base pieces. This was fine, the engines got me about at a good rate of knots, guests enjoyed the pool, dined on the candle lit deck, petted the animals in the petting zoo and enjoyed the banana garden in the stern.
But, then we came across a new blueprint for an electric anchor, that hooked into the ships wheel. Well I was most pleased, no more jumping down 4 floors after stopping the engine to put the anchor down (my knees aren't springs).
So after many island visits I get enough titanium to build it, and then install it. It looks great, life is looking up.

Now the problems start..... or maybe that started after the red chicken found it's way to the ships bridge, who knows.

I test out the anchor, down it goes, I go and look (my knees go crack as I hit the bottom floor), it works, yay for me.
Back up in the bridge, after many flights of stairs and a stop for a banana or two, I flip the anchor lever and go and check again. It works, it's back up, everything is great.
So back to the bridge and I start the engines....chug, chug, chug....splutter, chug. erm...

I check the engine room and all the engines are acting as if they are either under-powered or the anchor is down.
So out comes the new anchor and I stuff it in my pockets, along with the old anchor and enough water melons to fill a lorry (magic pockets are brilliant). The engines are still chugging and spluttering, not going anywhere.
Erm, now what?
I put another 2 engines in, still the same. I've got no anchor and 2 more engines than I had before and it's now not going anywhere.

I think I broke the ship, so I put out a distress call (yelling HELP from the fishing deck) and now I'm just going to have to wait for a tug boat to come by and bring me to shore. Unless anyone has any idea on how to fix a 200,000 ton cruise liner with some nails and a bit of scavenged plastic?

save and exit the game. i have a feeling when you reload it should clear the error. it might be related to the error that we all have when using the button mod, that ties the command to a keybinding. this was before the new anchor. my guest is that the game got confused with thte 2 anchor types, or the command to raise one and not the other.

You sir are a genius. I ended up building another 3 engines and still no moving. Restarting and I now have a super powered sports cruise liner.

addition info: 6 engines are enough to handle every size. More are only fuel consuming with no benefit.

I was under the assumption that 1 engine could handle 100 base units, hence the 8 engines. I will get rid of the extra ones though as they are so noisy.

You are correct, up to a point. Once you pass the 600 foundation mark, the made it so no more than 6 engines are required.

When I installed the T3 anchor my raft wouldn't move either. Restarted the game and it has worked fine ever since.

That's good to hear, I can free up some space and save on fuel, as it's just so expensive these days....

That was amusing op, Potterr. Hope you get it working!

The same thing happened to us. We just logged out and restarted. Works perfect now

im glad i could help. also additional when at max more engines dont benefit you unless you are running the voyager mod. but that also changes how the physics of the raft are calculated.

Glad it's fixed though I'm curious about how your Cruise liner looks. Could you post some pics? :2017stickycrab::2017stickydrink:

I had the same problem, only save quit and restarting didn't help.
In the end, picking up and re-placing the controls (engines on/off & Anchor) got it working for me.
