I've been playing the game for over a year - always offline, but now the game insists that it can't access steam if I have steam in offline mode.
Make sure you check the confirmation email after as they are asking people to reply to it to confirm that you have checked for answers in common issues and faqs.
I'm wondering if Redbeet have taken a leaf out of Axolots book, where Scrap mechanic needs to be online for you to load the game.
A good way to make sure people run out of 2hr grace for a refund, because a lot of users have realised you can play offline and STEAM doesn't clock up your game time.
I can't fault Redbeet for protecting their livelihood, but not DMC in the main menu.
But then back tot he topic it is indeed weird that you could play offline during the whole period of early access but now with the 1.0 Final Chapter update you can't do that anymore. This either was pushed by the publisher Axolot Games or an oversight that can be fixed. Let us hope for the latter, but I fear it is the first.

Hi!
Okey, I understand. However, unfortunately raft requires an internet connection to be played. Try removing the offline status and try again.
Best regards,
Redbeet Interactive.
Well, this is unfortunate. It's even more unfortunate that I purchased the game over a year ago in early access, and it's likely far too late for me to ask for a refund.
I am quite disappointed. I would have enjoyed completing this game, I think.
