I don't know if this is related but you can't play Raft now if Steam is in offline mode. You get as far as the main menu and then a popup message 'no connection to steam. refresh of restart raft and try again.'
Make sure you're on latest hotfix version (restart Steam and check your downloads).
If issue still persists with the hotfix installed, please submit a bug report so the developers can take a look here:

If you use mods, wait until the Modloader and the mods you're using are updated to be compatible with latest version before continuing modded save. Things are likely to break otherwise.
It used to work fine offline until the recent update yesterday. There is another discussion where several players have reported this as an issue. so hopefully it will get fixed.

Its not to do with a host server, just appears if I am offline.
I can understand if there is a validation check when you first load the game, as in scrap mechanic but to have it in the main menu after the game is loaded, needing you to reactivate the internet every time you go back to the Main menu?
I don't leave the internet online when playing most game, (which 99% of STEAM games allow without an issue), because it's just hassle to have Windows start an update when you are playing or some other background service kick in and slow everything down. :(
Also, I have seen you mention that you need an online connection to STEAM for P2P in another post. STEAM doesn't use P2P, so I'm a little unsure why you would say this, unless you have your own servers.
Thanks peeps, and I'm soooo happy that the second chapter is out.
All the best JO.
