Tangaroa secrete crane room

I did not realize there was a secrete room inside the crane puzzle until I flooded the crane room. I have tried everything to enter the room for the achievement from resetting the island to reloading a prior save. I would love to fully complete the island with that achievement but I don't want to restart my entire game, is there a way to reset the island to the basic state or is my only option to restart my game?

The same thing happened to me, and while trying to see if I could solve the puzzle after the room was flooded, I ended up saving right in front of the crane controls. When I loaded that save, I was in the secret room (directly below the crane controls) and got the achievement.

I have no idea if this will work for you, but it could be worth a shot. The only way to get out of the room was to drown, so leave your stuff on the raft if you try it.

If you haven't played since you flooded the basement, your save have a couple backups from previous saves, I believe up to 2 earlier saves. You should be able to load a backup save when you choose which save to load in the main menu, maybe you're lucky and have one. Otherwise you'll have to do it again on a new save if you don't have any saves from before.

I gave this a shot, it did not work for me. Thanks for the tip, I'll just have to do it the hard way.

I checked the backup saves but waited to long before looking, I didn't have one far enough back to reset it. This would have 100% worked if I did it in time. Thanks for the tip!
