Raft

Multiplayer Question
So lets say you have a world with your friend, but your friend has a different schedule than you so you can't always play at the same time. If you accidentally leave them behind on an island will they simply be forced to surrender? Does unstuck teleport to the boat when you die in the ocean?

The only way you could even still play on the same game is if the host leaves the game running to begin with. I'm not really sure how your situation would work, other than just always make sure you are on the raft before you go.

Not 100% certain. I believe if you are the world host, your friend should spawn on the raft when they join

If anyone is stuck on an island, yes, "unstuck" is probably the easiest way to return to the raft, although with two concerns:
  • Some find it to only work if the character is either in the water or have swam quite a distance from any islands.
  • "unstuck" wasn't designed for the purpose of at-will return-to-raft, although it seems reliable enough.

i have a weird question on multiplayer. i have a couple friends and we are on my boat, are they able to 'Take' things i have found and keep it. like say i have 30 dirt can they take it from me, leaving me with not having 30 dirt now? or anything else for that mattter.

Yes, they can take and also destroy everything. And there's no lockable door or chest you could build.
It might be best to only invite trustworthy friends on your boat.

If stored in boxes and such then yes they can take it, but not from your character.

You can do backups for your raft (not including character) if you'd like, and the game actually auto-maintains some backups for I think either last few saves or last few days.

I'm almost sure too that there's mods for spawning in things, if you ever find that necessary. Double-check if they're still there & working though.

islands will despawn if they are too far away from the raft, and if you're not in hardcore mode, you can simply respawn back on the raft.

but generally stuff like that shouldn't happen in the first place, as the raft is actually quite fast. if you want to stay at an island, you usually throw an anchor down, then explore the island, then lift the anchor.
if you log out on an insland, then that's a you-issue, although i did have an experience once where i logged out on an island and reappeared back on the raft once i logged in again, but i wouldn't trust that too much.

main question is: how are you playing together if you are not online at the same time? multiplayer works by someone else joining your savegame. if you are not there, the other can't play, since the game is saved locally, on your machine.

i mean there are mods out there which allow for dedicated servers, but there that issue shouldn't happen aswell, due to how islands work in a game design sense (you generally don't log out on an island as once you've stripped it clean, which is quickly done, you just leave) and the fact that players should normally appear on the raft when they log in.
