Advise on Balboa

I cannot reach the island I have the coordinates and I know how to sail against the wind but it seams to change on me. The closest I have gotten is around 8oo meters. I feel like I must be missing something. Any advice appreciated.

Spawn of Balboa island is unique that it normally appears on monitor, opposite the wind direction.

Engine or Paddles, the only options.

Islands will respawn including specific story islands. Just travel with the wind and it will respawn. I didnt have the engine either when going to Balboa and just waited for it to respawn.

Make sure your radar is facing forward, not sideways or backwards on your raft. The orientation of the radar will determine where a dot is in relation to your raft. For example, my singleplayer raft had the radar facing me from the left. That meant any islands I tried to sail to had to be on the right/east side of the ping, rather than to the north/top of it.

Thank you for all the input. I have the engine and helm but the fuel production device is on Balboa. It does not run currently. Appreciate the advice,

Engine eats bio and PLANKS

You aware you can interact with the left portion of engine, with a stack of Wood.

I just went on to inspect my engine to see if I missed something and saw it runs on planks as well. I thought it only took bio. Thanks and sorry so stupid.
