Hunger Bug?

So I just loaded into the game and was waiting for the food on my cooking pot to finish even though I still had like half of the additional yellow bar left. When all of a sudden my full hunger bar just rapidly starts decreasing to zero which threw me off a little bit. I had loads of cooked food in a chest so bringing it back to full was no issue but I thought it might have been some kind of bug?

I mean, I did just drink the red beet juice for additional health and then it just drained my hunger for some reason and I can't place why.

If this is meant to happen then no worries I was just wondering because this has never happened to me before in the 134 hours I've played this game.
