i had the same thought, you can run plumbing to for watering systems ect, seems like the next upgrade would to be able to run electricity from the windmill or implement solar panels, maybe it would still require battery's to store power during night?
id also like to see something like a water fountain to get water on higher levels instead of the giant water tank which takes up like 3 tiles.
maybe an electric cooking pot, running off planks is rather obsolete
