Bears Constantly Respawning

I'm guessing this is a bug, but:

are bears supposed to constantly respawn? Are they like the shark for respawning?

Every time I go up a path on one of the pinecone / bees / bears islands, a bear has respawned in the same place. I kill it and put the steaks / bear head back on the raft. As soon as I get back to the same spot, there is another bear charging at me. This has happened at least 10 times now.

Also, this part is definitely a bug: once the bear gets back to the beach, it ends up running in place. If I use a spear instead of bow, it will swipe at me, but its still stuck in place.

I'd love to explore the rest of the island.
At least I'm getting a ton of steaks.

No puffer fish with this type of island?

I don’t think it's a bug. Yes bears do respawn at high rate.
If you get at the water front, the bear will try to charge you but as it cannot enter the water, it will run on the same spot and you can spear it easily.
So you kill it and go on with your exploration. Why do you get back to your raft each time ?
And no, there are no pufferfishes on this type of islands.

thanks for the info. i thought it was a bug because the bear would run in spot instead of up and down the shoreline. and yes, very easily killed with a spear at that point.

i'd drop stuff back on the raft because I was one jump away from it and thought I'd have time to explore and fill up all my inventory.

You're welcome.
When you further explore the island, mind the bears who are not near shore. At first, they are difficult to kill, until you get the right timing with spearing them and avoiding their charge.

If you have issues with bears, wait till you get to the big boat and find those rat things.

screetchers are an incredible pain.

I'm more worried about the Big Bear on the last island (balboa?).
haven't been there yet, sounds very difficult though.

just thought the incredibly quick respawn and running in place of the bears were potential bugs. But from what I've heard, it doesn't sound like they're bugs.

Hopefully, i'll find more bear islands. so far, only one.

I find way more screechers islands than bear islands.
At first, I hated the screechers, too. Now, I've found a way to decimate them with no pain and a little patience. With a bow and good timing.

With Screechers, it also helps if you're as high up as possible, then they have to fly up at you. Much easier to hit them with the bow. But STILL an unbelievable pain.

So far, only one Bear Island and LOTS of Screecher / Boar / Puffer Fish Islands.
