Leftovers when ingredients are correct

Is anyone else getting leftover soup on some recipes even though the ingredients were correct?

I'm only doing one juice and one soup choice so far, and no issues. What did you try to make?

Only time you get leftovers is when you mess up the recipe.

i think u have to find/buy the recipe first? i once tried cooking the meal for bigger lungs and i got leftovers 🥺

I don't think so, I've been making Simple Smoothie and I didn't get the recipe for it yet.

The recipes are allways the same, so you can make stuff before you find the recipe.
And no i had no issues

Since OP hasn't responded yet, figured I would just toss the tip out there that recipes require uncooked food. If you're using a cooked version of an ingredient that will mess it up. Might not be the issue in this case but I've seen that catch some people before.

Or what i had a few times was that i accidentially removed food, or hit the pot before all food was placed.
The latter you can prevent by placing the food before you empty the pot

He is correct, at least one of the trade post recipies must be owned before it can be made. Most others can be made with or without it though.

Only time I thought I had that was when I mixed up two fish that look kinda similar in the recipe and wondered about having leftovers in the pot, then I rechecked and realized what my mistake had been.

Thanks for the responses. I am aware that we can make recipes without the recipe itself. I'm also aware that food needs to be raw. Since it has not happened to others, I can only guess that I made a mistake in an ingredient. Will just double check my ingredients from now on.

Or if you are lazy you can use a mod, or better 2 Mods
One that allows crafting from all crates
And the other one who places the Ingredients when you click on the Recipe that hangs on the cooking station

I know this is old but this is happening to me too. I've already played through a couple times so I'm familiar with how the recipes work and I've double checked the ingredients on a few of them and they still come out as leftovers. I'm going to try a mod I guess.

Recipes changed with the 1.0 launch so, like, 3 guides I was looking at were all outdated and crafting Leftovers because of it. I just used the Wiki and didn't have a problem. Also from what I understand is that there are special foods that use ingredients purchased from the island shops that need to have the recipe purchased, otherwise it'll be Leftovers even with the correct ingredients.
