The developers stated from the start that they have no plans to implement VR into the game and this stance has been repeated countless times during the development so fact they never implemented VR support should not come as surprise for anyone. Maybe they'll add one in sequel if there ever is one. Their future plans are currently unknown so we'll have to wait and see what future holds.
Still kudos and good luck for the developer of the mod.
