Unable to progress story

Hello,
I'm completely stuck and unable to progress the story, so before uninstall it I would like to ask for help/advice.

Code #5290 Balboa island, receiver up, 2 engines + 2 sails, the location direction is let's say north but the wind/current goes opposite direction south, even with 2 engines running I do not move, soon I turn a bit I go farther away from my destination.

I'm doing sumnt wrong or is just the game cheap/clunky af ?

Balboa is designed to spawn in direction that is opposed to the wind from your raft. Only way to reach it is by using engines (you need 1 per 100 foundations for engines to function) or paddles to reach it. If the engines aren't turning fluidly and are instead stuttering, you don't have enough engines to move your raft. If you have engines, sails are useless and having more than 1 sail does nothing.

Sail can't move the raft against the wind, only slow the windward movement. They are useful if you're trying to reach something by paddling though.

thanks for the clear explanation, does wooden floor count to ?

Shouldn't do. Just Foundation. Interesting note, Collection Nets aren't Foundation.

Only foundations. Anything you build on or above them doesn't matter (walls, floors, pillars, chests etc.). Also, as JerryHatrick_Nz above points out, the collection nets do not count as foundations either.

ok I got him work, got 6 engine running for 300 foundations, my raft now is a Ferrari :D

Can a clearer note be added ingame (idk, to the engine description) to either explicitly say or at least hint at the need for a certain amount of engines?

When i first built one it was spluttering and i just assumed that was how it was meant to work.

If one pays attention of the scribbles ' on the engine ',
take a closer look,
might see a ' difficult math equation to be solved '.

When the engine first appeared,
some may thought it was a ' hint ' to an ' escape room puzzle '.

According to the compass I bought at a tradepost, the wind is indeed blowing from South to North.

If you turn your sails 'against' the wind (facing South) your raft will only move in the direction your engines are going to (else you would drift a bit).
You did place your receiver in a way, that when you use it, your are looking at the front of your raft ...
And both engines move in to the same direction? You know, if you placed your engeins at the left and right side their directional levers would point into opposite directions?

With only 3 engines, you get the same speed at half fuel consumption.
