ah yes horizontal beam from new update may increase the size per 4 pillars needed
If someone figured out already, I want to listen or read the guide.

The 'floor tiles' still need to connect at one of their sides to either a wall or a beam. So placing the beams at an 2-row-interval might be best.
It can be tricky to get floors to attach to the beams, I haven't quite figured out why sometimes you have to add short horizontal beams between long ones in certain places just to get the floor filled in completely, but with a combination of long and short beams (or all short ones) you can do it.
Placing them can also be tricky if you are putting them under the floor you are standing on, you have to keep hitting R to rotate them around where you are pointing, if you have one floor block that won't go down getting short beams around the hole so you can fill it in can take some trial and error.
the QoL that had made building effortless and limitless in the ' Float ' aspect.
For example, I made Mario floating in the sky with 0 pillars (vertical or horizontal).

Considering the technique has existed from the early days of early access and they haven't fixed it, it's unlikely they intend to. Also things like this that allow for more creative freedom in a creative game aren't likely to be removed intentionally, unless the developer wants to make the game worse for some reason.
Assuming the pillars are all connected, you could remove all the vertical pillars.
There is no limit to horizontal pillars other than game limitation (i.e. building far enough away from raft center that the raft itself unloads).
