Raft

Low performance on laptop.
My Laptop has a RTX 3060, i7 11800k, and 16gb ram and the game is running piss poor. I can run games with way higher requirements and get 100+ fps so why am I getting 30fps in Raft? Any suggestions is appreciated. Already running on medium.

Bit of a strange fix, but it did work for me:

I run Raft on a laptop as well and got very low fps (about 10 fps with harsh stuttering). My laptop is not a high end gaming one but it is decent and runs other games significantly better. Even reducing everything to fastest did not help. I did notice that the whole laptop got very hot running raft and researched that a bit. It seems to me that the CPU was throttling itself down due to overheating protection.

So I tried what others did: Lowering maximum CPU performance to 99% in the energy settings. And that did fix it. Running the game at playable 30 fps on fast/good settings.

So maybe try that if your CPU gets very hot. Otherwise there are a lot of things you can try besides the ususal suspects like updating drivers, tweaking nvidia settings etc. I would recommend a google search, a lot of people struggle to run the game well.

It seems to be just the laptop in general. Idk what changed but it's not clocking up for all my games now. Gonna DDU my driver and hope thats it.

So it turned out to be the latest Nvidia driver being buggy on my laptop.. The year old one from MSI does the trick to fix it. Really weird honestly.

Did you make sure the laptop was set to use the 3060 and not the integrated graphics? If you updated the driver recently it may have reverted to using that.

Yes. It was the driver not setting the performance cap properly. So the memory clock was stuck on 800mhz instead of the usual 7000mhz. This old driver nets me better fps too.
